The people with whom you work reflect your own attitude. If you are suspicious, unfriendly and condescending, you will find these unlovely traits echoed all about you. But if you are on your best behavior, you will bring out the best in persons with whom you are going to spend most of your waking hours.

From The Corner Of My Mind

* It's chilly this morning. Temperature showing 49 degrees near Ponder at daybreak.
* The Dan Wheldon crash video and in car video was said to be shown on CNN yesterday in a continual loop. It takes someone getting killed for the main stream media to pick up a story about racing? There are winners, drama, wrecks and great racing every weekend all across the country.
* W-spouse, W-daughter #1, both the grand kids and myself went to the "Circus" last night at the rodeo grounds in Decatur. Circus? That had to be the biggest rip off ever. It was held in the Women's building. That should have been our first clue. No elephant is going to fit through any of those doors.
* It was a dog show act, not a circus, with a little bit of entertainment thrown in for good measure. A hula hoop girl (if I had a favorite, that was it, only because she was hot). A clown did a small act with a few audience members, which was kind of funny. Another guy rode some uni cycles and then there was an intermission. About the same time, the storm that moved through was approaching, so we used that excuse and left. As adults, we thought it sucked. The grand kids just liked hanging out with Papa, so they had a good time.
* While leaving the storn hit with a blinding rain storm and guess what? Ding Ding, the little out of gas light goes off on the dashboard. W-spouse was driving and I looked over at her with that look in my eyes. She looked back at me with the sheepish looking grin. Of course I had to rant and rave about procrastinating and that didn't help matters.
* About this same time the my phone rings. A co-worker of mine was feeling really bad and wanted W-spouse and me to go out to his house and check on him. He was recently diagnosed with Diabetes so we were worried that he might be having issues.
* Now remember, it's coming a storm, we are out of gas, Ava G in in the car seat in the back seat, I'm ranting and raving at W-spouse about her procrastinating. So we pull into the gas station under an awning so that we don't soaking wet. W-spouse jumps out to swipe her card because by now I have her feeling guilty about procrastinating, she jumps back in and says its going. I can see through the window that it's not. I jump out, swipe my card, still doesn't work. It's pouring down rain, the wind is blowing, I'm getting soaked, I'm getting madder, so I give up. I jump back in and we go to the Shell station. Just as we pull in there a wreck has taken place out in the intersection. I swipe my card and get the gas going. We both notice that the wreck involves our neighbor across the street so I run out in the rain to check on her. By this time her husband had gotten there and was taking care of her. She was OK, just scared and a little sore.
* I run back, stop the gas because we had enough to do what we needed to do. We take off and get Ava G back home, then we run to our house to get the BP cuff and my diabetes monitors and a thermometer. We couldn't find the thermometer, it wasn't put back where it was supposed to be, I go into another rant and rave about that. W-spouse is ranting and raving back saying if I would shut up we wouldn't be taking so much time.
* We gather medical supplies and head out to my co-workers house. When we got there W-spouse did all the Nurse things and checked him and determined that he probably had the Flu. By now W-spouse is in full nurse mode, so we order him some soup from Chilis, then we head to Walmart to get him some medicine, Gatorade, Sprite and some other soups.......and  we picked up 3 new thermometers. We then headed back out to his house and delivered the items and she checked him over again. We got him settled in for the night and made sure he had our phone numbers. He doesn't speak very good English, but we made him understand that if in the night he got worse to call us.
* We finally made it back home around 10pm last night. We got our showers and got into bed where we both collapsed.
* Now folks, that's a typical evening at the Wiggins household!
* W-spouse, thank you for being so caring and taking care of others the way you do. I love you!
* Oh......and I'm sorry for ranting and raving.
* Y'all have a great day, see ya Around The Corner!

Just think. If you were homeless with no phone and no car you wouldn't have had such a bad evening. Well, maybe the getting wet part. : )>

LMAO! I'm glad all that is not on video. What a night. The best part is ... every day is a do over, a chance to do it better than the day before.

isn't it grand to be in a relationship that allows ranting, raving, checking on others without complaint, and feeling the love coursing through it all? :)

That was funny! I get the rants all the time from hubby about procrastinating till my gas light comes on. Maybe I will learn not to push it? Doubtful. How sweet of you to take such good care of your neighbors!!!
