* It's another beautiful morning, but the temps are supposed to rise into the lower 90s this evening.
* Yesterday we attended the senior banquet at the high school for W-stepson #3. We met in the auditorium for about 30 minutes and then went outside where they served the meal. We grabbed a table that was soon to be shaded by a tree. We all thought it was going to be miserably hot, but as the shade covered us, it was quite comfortable. The meal was catered by Sagebrush Cafe in Bridgeport. It was a very good meal, and the iced tea and peach cobbler was wonderful.
* Some thoughts on that:
1. The older I get, the less I can hear. We sat in the rear of the auditorium and I couldn't understand anything they said.
2. There were nearly more people seated at our table during the meal last night than my whole graduating class in 1980.
3. The shutter on my camera is extremely loud in a near silent auditorium.
4. High school girls will wear anything these days.
5. Getting to visit with friends that we always sat with during football games was fun. We need to make the effort to see them more often.
* I got off a little early yesterday and accomplished two projects. I fixed the exhaust pipe on the welder and got the boat out and started getting it ready for this weekend.
* Unbelievable, but both batteries in the boat were still charged and it started the first try. I put the charger on them anyway to bring them up to a full charge.
* The exhaust pipe on the welder had broken off even with the top of the manifold. I had tried to JB Weld it with no luck. Yesterday I took the top cover off so I could access it easier and took a sharp punch and very gently cut the broken piece out of the manifold. It was easier than I thought it would be and it didn't damage the threads at all. I then rode all over town looking for a 16" piece of 1 1/2" pipe with pipe threads on one end. Lowes, Tractor Supply of Henderson Supply company didn't have one, but I went to Decatur Lumber and found one. I installed it and then put the cover back on. I then noticed why it had broken off. Somehow the cover has shifted and was pushing on the exhaust pipe putting it in a bind. I got out the grinder and made the hole bigger. That should eliminate that issue.
* Time to get to work, see ya Around The Corner!

The people with whom you work reflect your own attitude. If you are suspicious, unfriendly and condescending, you will find these unlovely traits echoed all about you. But if you are on your best behavior, you will bring out the best in persons with whom you are going to spend most of your waking hours.
