From The Corner Of My Mind

* Blogging from the waiting room of the hospital. * Our son is scheduled for surgery on his broken leg early this mornIng. * We traveled north to Witchita Falls last night to watch the game. A Thursday night edition played due to scheduling conflicts with their stadium. There are 4 teams that use the stadium in WF. I don't know why we couldn't have played it here. UIL rules I assume? Do you have to have so many games at home and so many away? * There was a commenter on my blog and on LL blog that made a few predictions (most likely a Bulls fan) about Decatur not being able to play against Gainsville or Witchita Herschi. I admit I was wondering myself about Gainsville, they usually come prepared to win. Against both teams, Decatur came better prepared, had more will to win and played better as a team. Their team play this year is outstanding. So far this year, it has never been about "me me me", it has only been about the team. * It was a huge 52-16 win. It was 52-6 up until 2 minutes left in the game. * Decatur played without Coach Story at the helm last night. He was at Dallas Presb. hospital with his son who is still in ICU suffering from complications of a blood clot in his leg from the injury in last Friday nights game. * I hope he was getting play by play from some sort of media. * There is a case before us this morning, so he won't start our case till at least 9am. * More later, see ya Around The Corner! * EDIT: Went back to the OR at approximately 9:35am. The waiting begins, should be about two hours till we can see him again.

saying some prayers for surgery... good outcome, peace of mind for you and w-spouse...

as for home and away games, it's generally decided between the coaches... if you play a team home this year, normally you play them away the next year... and preseason games are usually set up on a 3 or 4 year contract basis...

but if for some reason there are conflicts in schedules or some other aspect, the coaches can decide to change the day, time, and location of a game... but it has to be agreed upon by both sides....

around here we have 3 stadiums for 11 high schools... we end up with 2 or 3 Thursday night varsity games in a season... and JV/Freshman play the night before varsity... so the football week is normally Thurs/Fri but sometimes it ends up being Wed/Thurs... sort of sucks because there is nothing quite like FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS!

Sending prayers and good thoughts for a successful surgery for your boy. Prayers also going out to the other players hurt. Poor kids
:-( The idea of a blood clot is terrifying. Bless them all.
