The people with whom you work reflect your own attitude. If you are suspicious, unfriendly and condescending, you will find these unlovely traits echoed all about you. But if you are on your best behavior, you will bring out the best in persons with whom you are going to spend most of your waking hours.

Topic For Discussion

On another blog that I read daily a point was made in reference to this news story. On the blog he made the statement that "It's just a different culture."
I don't know much about Japans culture but from what I think I know and have either saw in movies or the news that they have an "eye for an eye" discipline mentality. Am I correct? If I am correct, is that the reason the money was returned (fear of repercussion) or is that they really are a different culture in the fact that they are more honest, and more ethically aware of what happened and returned it? DO you think given the same circumstances, that the money would be returned in America?

No way...50% are great people and would do the right thing, but you would be surprised who would be dishonest

I can only tell you what I would do, and I believe you know that I would turn it in. Even if no one was wathching, even if there is a chance the rightful owner could not be found, even if there were no repercussions for keeping it.

Dear, I know WHAT you would do. I've seen you turn in a $1 bill in Walmarts (with an S) parking lot.
What about their culture?

Would it be ethical to hold out a "handling fee"?

I wouldn't think so Mr B if you gave at LEAST half of it to the church!
