Never be bullied into silence. Never allow yourself to be made a victim. Accept no one's definition of your life, but define yourself. Harvey S. Firestone
The people with whom you work reflect your own attitude. If you are suspicious, unfriendly and condescending, you will find these unlovely traits echoed all about you. But if you are on your best behavior, you will bring out the best in persons with whom you are going to spend most of your waking hours.

Mr. Answers Asks
I have a question for your readers. What concerns you the most? Congress not enacting a governmental fiance bill that could mean huge financial implications or the NFL lockout? Both have to be done in the next 8-10 days or big problems for the economy on one hand or missing football games on the other?

We had better be concerned with the economy and our nations deficit. We are in big trouble now and the future of our grandchildren also. Mom
Well, it is not just ab out "football games". It is about a huge number of jobs. And I am NOT talking about the players. Think ab out how many people it takes to make a football game happen. Crews/ grounds keepers at the venue, food craft personnel, people who sell, serve, clean, and depend on that game for a job. Add the crews who put the games on TV. Each games has at least a couple hundred folks that are employed to make that happen. From food service, to the camera operators, to the TV engineers. Now at businesses that people head out to, and watch games. Bars and clubs, and all who work there....
Its not just a game, for many, it is their livelihood...
I enjoy watching the Cowboys games, and occasionally, other matchups. But with the state the world is in right now, it won't affect me a rat's behind whether they play this season or not.
Were it not for the largesse of friends who sometimes give me their tickets when they can't use them, I would not pay good money to attend a game.
Billionaire owners arguing with millionaire players doesn't even belong on the last page.
The debt crisis is front page stuff and affects all of us.
Anyone with an I.Q. higher than a carrot would have to realize that the economy is vastly more important but I wonder what occupies more of our thoughts. Probably more thoughts are used regarding the football lockout. What is the significance of that? I have no idea.
I think that a lot of people focus on things that are vastly unimportant in the grand scheme of things simply because it feels safer. I don't know. I've always marveled at the fanatical way people can get over things that really don't matter. I enjoy a good football game as much as anyone, but the whole situation is ridiculously far removed from reality. They are all spoiled idiots.
As far as our debt/government situation goes, I honestly don't waste much time worrying about that either, because I know that I have no control over that either. I hate it, but that is the truth of the matter.
So I try to focus my energies and concern on things I do have control over, like the people I love and the day to day things in my life that need my attention.
I'm opposed to a Government Fiance Bill. It's bad enough that we're taxed to death, now they want to pick who we marry!
the econonmy... it scares the shit of me...facing disability...a life on SSD and SSI... medicare/medicaid...cuts to those programs...that's money i have paid into my own personal "govt acct" since they don't believe we are able to plan for our own futures... and now they want to cut MY money and take it... money i paid into MY account...and now when i need it they are going to cut it? bastards....
football is a huge money maker with lots of employees.... and it's a great stress reliever for many... it will be sad if there is not football.... we'll be watching college ball....
Football bores me...
Now I understand how you married so well, Jar. The government must have arranged it.
Amen, Mr. Answers. Amen!
