From The Corner Of My Mind - Guadalupe River Edition

* Once again, it's a peaceful morning as the sun comes up over the hills on the east bank of the river. The river is smooth as glass.
* Yesterday I stayed behind as the others went to Schlitterbahn. After 5 days of non-stop running, I needed a break. I napped a few times, and really only ventured outside until late in the evening. Cuz and I made our way down to the river and went swimming, staying in till near dark. We met some of our neighbors and had a really good time visiting with them.
* W-spouse said Schlitterbahn was fun, and her and Ava Grace played on the kiddie rides the whole time. Except when they were napping in the shade of course.
* Plans are already in the works for a trip to Schlitterbahn when both of the grandkids will be toddlers next year.
* Today we pack up the gear and load everything. Our week here on the river is over. We are going to tour Gruene again today with the kids that haven't been there yet, also having lunch at the Grist Mill. Then we are going to Luckenbach again because our daughter-in-law has never been there, then heading towards Austin to visit with Mo and Big Dude. Depending on the time, we will either spend the night there, or head home.
* It's been an amazing week and the time I have got to spend with our children and grandchildren has been priceless. If I had a million dollars, I would gladly pay it to be able to spend another week together. Although we all live within a 20 mile radius of each other, we rarely ever get to spend time together under this atmosphere.
* Granny D and Papa Harold left yesterday and on the way home they stopped by Vogels peach orchard and bought peaches and had homeade peach ice cream. We might need to do that today also.
* If you are planning a vacation on the Guadalupe river, we recommend Moo Cow cabins. Either the Texas Star or the Red Barn house. It will far exceed your expectation for a rental house. It's a fully equipped home except for sheets and towels that you are required to bring. The river access is easy even for children or older people. Terri, the lady that owns the homes is very nice and will work with you in any way she can. She told us that she will take a deposit at any time and let you pay the balance out for a year if you need to do that.
