The people with whom you work reflect your own attitude. If you are suspicious, unfriendly and condescending, you will find these unlovely traits echoed all about you. But if you are on your best behavior, you will bring out the best in persons with whom you are going to spend most of your waking hours.

From The Corner Of My Mind - Guadalupe River Edition

* I'm watching the sun break over the hill across the river and it's a grand view. The winds are calm this morning and not a ripple to be seen on the river.
* The plan yesterday was to hang out and rest. That was the plan until I suggested that we go to the Natural Bridge Caverns. Granny D and Papa Harold took off in one direction to explore the Texas Hill Country, and we went south a few miles to the cavern.
* There are three different tours you can take. We opted for the easiest route due to W-spouses knee issues. The tour takes you down to a depth of 180' and then you wind your way back up steps and steep winding ramps. Walking nearly a mile in the cave. It wasn't as pretty as I remember Carlsbad Caverns, but it was an interesting and fun tour. We were huffing and puffing in the 99% humidity, but made the trek just fine.
* After arriving back up top W-stepson and Catie wanted to try the 40' rock climbing wall and the zip line ride. We filled out the paperwork and watched them put on the safety gear. They both went right up the wall making it to the top and sliding back down. While watching them, I decided that climbing and zip lining was something that I had never done and may not ever be able to do, so I go back and fill out the paperwork, pay my money and put on mynsafety gear.
* The last time I climbed one of those walls was at the Munster Festival, it was a weight assisted climb about 15'-20'. This one was a dead weight climb being over 40' to the top. I made the first 25' with no problems, then the foot and handholds got smaller. As I climbed, my belly got bigger and my arms and legs started giving out. The last 5' were a killer, and I lost my footing once, but never fell. I recovered and made it all the way to the top and rang the bell, repelling back down.
* I then made my way to the top of the tower, hooked up to the zip line and without hesitation, jumped off the edge. Zip lining nearly 200' as you can see in the video.
* Some thoughts:
1. I'm not as strong as I used to be.
2. I don't regret it at all.
3. I'm sore this morning, but not AS sore as I thought I would be.
4. Never miss an opportunity to do something fun with the kids.
5. I would do it again today.
* After the caverns we made our way back to the cabin and had supper. We then splashed around in the river for a while again. From there we made our way to the River Road Ice House where we watched some live entertainment. We made it home around midnight. Went back to the cabin and got in bed. Our last weary travelers showed up about 1:30am. We got them all tucked in and went back to bed.
* So much for a restful and relaxing day!
* Today we either do Shlitterbahn or float the Comal again.
* Ava Grace and her mom just woke up. It's time to play with the grand baby!
* Have a great day, see ya Around The Corner!

Hey I agree on the next morning sore thing LOL. But also agree that it was something that needed to be done. LOL
It's gonna get me sternly talked to by my Aunt and Uncle like you did but worth it to give me back my self confidence after the "incident". Thanks Cuz for worrying and sternly talking but always backing me up when i needed it.
You totally rocked the rock wall but I think I rocked the zip line. LOL. Now I have proof that even a broken back ain't gonna slow me all the way down ;o)
See yawl tonight
