From The Corner Of My Mind

* Temps in the 90s all week, but it's better than last week.
* We had a wonderful time at the lake with all the Watson clan this weekend.
* I love breakfast at the lake. I love lunch at the lake. I love dinner at the lake.
* From the time you wake up, to the time you go to bed out there, you are eating every few hours.
* One of the cousins has built and portable outdoor cooker with a Wok burner on each side and a griddle in the middle(Ha! that rhymes). He and another cousin cooked all the sausage, bacon and scrambled eggs each morning. It was fast and efficient. We didn't have to do anything but cook the biscuits.
* He then cooked fajitas on Sunday for the lunch with all the vegetables. Everything was delicious.
* We took the boat out on Saturday and on Sunday. I'm a little sunburned today. Not hurting to bad, just tender.
* So far, no other issues with the boat. Keeping my fingers crossed.
* A month ago the lake water was nearly to cold to swim in. Or at least it took your breath away when you jumped in. Now it's warm, but very refreshing. Another few weeks of these temperatures and it will feel like a hot tub.
* We took the Teryx4 out there to let everyone ride on. It has since hit the 20 hour service mark. I need to take it back to Denton and have the service done this week.
* Lake Bridgeport has officially become a busy lake. On a normal weekend there are hundreds of boats, personal watercraft and jet skis out on the water. In reality, it has become a dangerous place to be on a holiday weekend. 7 out of every 10 boats seem to be either wake surfing or wakeboarding, either of which throws a tremendous wake from behind the boat. 2 out of the other 3 are usually tubing around in circles or back and forth. Throw in the normal wind we have in this area and it adds up to a very rough lake. Then everyone moves to the smoother areas on the water and it gets dangerous.
* If you are the driver of the boat and you are trying to pull someone skiing, wakeboarding or tubing, you are a nervous wreck by the end of the day.
* I remember a time when you could go out there and never see another boat, and if you did, you could just move around the corner and never be in each others way. I have been out there numerous times on a summer day during our reunion in the middle of the week and never see another boat all day. If you did, it was other members of the family headed out or coming in from fishing.
* I fear Lake Bridgeport will become as unsafe as Lake Lewisville, where by the way,two people drowned over the weekend. There was another Friday night, but I couldn't find the link.
* NASCAR has taken a backseat in my mind over the summer. Even though W-spouse and I are still currently engaged in the NASCAR fantasy league. I'm holding at 10th place right now due to a screw up on my part where I picked a driver that I had picked the week before.
* I hope you have a wonderful day, see ya Around The Corner!

My memories of the lake are going out during the week and IF you saw another boat you knew who it was.
I could also catch crappie off my dock almost at will.
A great place at one time but progress tends to diminish the quality of life if you prefer to not be around crowds.
My town, Mansfield, was wonderful ten years ago but has succumbed to " economic development" and the accompanying noise and traffic congestion.
That's why I would RBS.
