Never be bullied into silence. Never allow yourself to be made a victim. Accept no one's definition of your life, but define yourself. Harvey S. Firestone

The people with whom you work reflect your own attitude. If you are suspicious, unfriendly and condescending, you will find these unlovely traits echoed all about you. But if you are on your best behavior, you will bring out the best in persons with whom you are going to spend most of your waking hours.

Some people get spiritual because they see the light and some people get spiritual because they feel the heat!

How do you know if you're truly a servant? See how you react the next time someone treats you like one.

From The Corner Of My Mind

* I came up on top of the hill to get a better signal this morning during some down time to post this.
* We have replaced the rig and all my equipment and are back up and running this morning. Two days down  to clear away all the mess.
* A safety representative for the company that I work for contacted the Denton county Ponder weather station yesterday inquiring about wind speeds last Monday evening/night. He was informed that they recorded a gust at 122 mph. That is probably why, and when the rig blew over.
* The farmhand that works the ranch that we are working on said that two huge trees are blown over right behind our location. He also stated that they all went to the storm cellar that night.
* The blog got hacked yesterday. One of my friends Facebook was hacked this week also. I had to turn word verification back on for a week. Remind me and I will turn it back off after a few days. Why would anyone give a crap about hacking my blog? Like my little corner of the blog world is going to make a difference.
* Over at Obi's place, she blogged about simple pleasures. I have a bad habit of not stopping and enjoying simple pleasures. I tend to recognize them, just always in to big of a hurry to enjoy them. Tuesday afternoon both of the grand kids ended up over at the house and were playing on the new swing set. I had a few things that I needed to get done and caught up on though. I then asked myself if it was that important to do those things right now while the girls were playing. I just sat and watched them and pushed them in the swings and helped them up on the slide. I was always so busy when my girls were growing up and missed some of those things. I WILL NOT DO THAT with my grand children.
* Some of the things that I think are simple pleasures:
 Seeing my grand kids laugh.
A cold glass of iced tea.
When W-spouse says she loves me. Oh....and when she rubs my back at night.
The smell of clean clothes right out of the dryer.
Out on the lake when the sun is going down.
The yard after it's been mowed.
* Please leave a few of you own in the comments please.
* Have a blessed day, see ya Around The Corner!

The smell of the air right before a thunderstorm.

My daughter's unsolicited kisses.

Lying in bed listening to thunder.

The silence of a remote ski slope on a sunny day.

The smell of a walk in a pine forest.

Having a [baseball] catch with my son.

Standing waist-deep in the middle of a clear, cold stream flyfishing.

An Irish accent.

My son's face after he scores a soccer goal.

Remembering my grandmother's laugh.

The last time I went to a baseball game with my dad.

Feeling so small, lying in the cool grass under God's endless sky.

Sitting on a Bench in a park. Just Being.

That's enough gayness for now. Carry on.

When my family's all together and laughing.

Sitting "down below" at the lake late in the evening feeling the cool breeze blow.

"Bobbing" with friends and family.

When Allie looks at me and says "i love you Nana".

When my wonderful hubby calls me beautiful. (which he does almost every day).

Many, many other things! There are too many to list. I am glad I have the time to stop and enjoy life a little more these days.

simple pleasures...

the smell of the pages in a book
the feel of petting the dog
waking up next to coach
a flower in the field
the wind on my face
a day without the headache
new sprouts on my agave
a sink filled with soap bubbles
that first cup of coffee
a new pen
clean paper
crawling into bed at night

When my family has a Sunday family dinner all together...

Laying out in the sun feeling the heat beam down...

Sitting outside right before dawn and listening to all the birds and owls....

My son giving me the biggest hug ever and telling me he loves me ...

The joy my 2 dogs show when I come home.

Rocking in my big red rocking chair on the screened porch listening to lovely music while it rains & thunders.

Knowing that my family is close to & loves each other.

Keeping in touch with friends...some from 50 years ago.

My husband telling me he loves me every day & that I "am still the one."

Knowing that I am one of God's children.

Sundays!
When my little boy falls asleep in my arms.
The way his hair smells.
The way my Hunny Bunny smells.
An uninterrupted bath (I have forgotten what this is like...)
A nap.
Long talks with sisters.
Summer.
CoronaRitas.
The beach.
Can you tell I need a vacation?
