From The Corner Of My Mind

* It is a beautiful Monday morning. 80 percent chance of rain tomorrow though. We really need a good rain.
* I got the weekend off. I finished up a few things on project DTB Friday evening and called the grandkids to come over and play. Ava G came over first and started playing, and after Madison woke up from her nap, her mother brought her over. Upon her arrival, I knew something was wrong. When I picked her up, her tummy was hot. She was very fussy and cried when anyone set her down. W-spouse and W-baby mom carried her inside and took her temperature. She had a fever. We called the doctor, and by then it was nearly 8pm and knew the doctor wouldn't see her that late. She did call her in some antibiotics though and She stayed long enough to get them filled. Saturday morning she slept in for a while and when she woke up her fever had broken. Yesterday she was better and hopefully this week she will shake what she has.
* The big boys all played on the playhouse and swings though. If they can swing on them, I have NO worries of anyone else getting on them.
* Ava G loves the glider and swings. I can't wait till Madison feels better and can come enjoy everything. I put her in one of the swings on Friday night and she did like that, she was a little scared of the glider, but I'm sure when she feels better, she will love it.
* On Saturday morning I attended the Men's breakfast at church. After that, W-spouse and I went over and cleaned up the camper and I ran to the welding shop to get a new bottle of acetylene. They were closed on Saturday? Sheeez. I left the bottle for Papa Harold to change out one day this week.
* Saturday after noon, I set in the easy chair and did NOTHING, until time to go take prom pictures up on the square. After that, we went up to Alvord to attend W-stepson #2 birthday party. We finally arrived back home about 9 and both crashed.
* Sunday morning.....W-spouse was on call. She had a case at 8am so I went to church while she worked. She  got to church before the morning worship service though. After church....It was time for Talladega!
* The race was slightly delayed because of a rain shower and started a few minutes late. It was a great race. Typical Talladega. Lots of pack racing this time and not as much two car tandem racing. Brad Keselowski won the race, outrunning Kyle Busch in the last 200 yards to the finish line.
* I was in third place in the Fantasy League after last weeks race. I was 13 points behind the leader. I picked Carl Edwards this week and he got into a crash about half way through the race and never returned to the track. We haven't gotten the League results yet, but I bet I have fallen to 6-10 place. From the top to mid pack in two weeks.
* If you didn't see this crash during Saturdays Nationwide race, watch it here. Eric McClure comes from behind the initial accident and shoots straight for the wall, wide open. Never hits the breaks. Never tries to steer out of it. Thank goodness for safer barrier walls on the inside right where he impacted it. He is currently still in the hospital under observation. He sustained no major injuries, but got his bell rung pretty good though, so they are watching him.
* There was another bad wreck during the ARCA race on Friday, but I couldn't find video of it.
* I had developed a leak in the rear differential, or left axle tube on the Jeep. We drove it up to Alvord on Saturday night and Sunday morning there was oil on the concrete under it when I looked at it. Yesterday after the race, I went and got a gasket for the diff cover and some silicone to put around the axle tube. I also purchased some spray brake cleaner to clean everything with so the silicone would stick. After taking everything apart, cleaning it all up, scraping the old gaskets off, and replacing everything, I was tightening the bolts and noticed that the vent hose was off the axle tube. Well duh. It seems when I nearly ended over a few weeks ago and the axle dropped down so far on that side,  it must have pulled the vent tube off. That is where all the oil was coming from. it probably needed a new gasket anyway, but I should have just looked a little further before I tore it all down. I was suspecting something bad, and it ended up being something simple and easy to fix.
* Gotta run, see ya Around The Corner!

Madi was feeling better today! I took her to daycare early today and she was ready to get out of the card and go play with her friends. Usually when I drop her off she cries to stay with me, but today she was reaching for her teacher...sad mommy day :( But I am glad that she is having fun and learning!

Did I hear that sweet little Danica deliberately wrecked someone after the race was over?
Get that girl some tranquilizers!

Yeah, she was pissed. She got run up in to the wall by a driver that was at least 10 laps down. On the cool down lap, she spun him right in to the wall. Later, he said he deserved it.
I fear she will get fined for it though.

I watched that Eric McClure wreck and it looked like he was accelerating right up until impact. I've heard nothing, but he must have had a stuck throttle. They haven't said exactly what injuries he's sustained, but that young man is lucky to be alive. I'd be interested to see how many G's he pulled on impact.

I tweeted Dave Moody earlier and asked his opinion why the family was not releasing in information about his injuries. He told me it was none of our business.
I think something is wrong and they aren't letting it out.
One more thing. I've watched the wreck numerous times. You cant hardly see what happened before he got turned sideways. I'm wondering if he was out prior to getting spun? Or if the throttle stuck? There was no visible brake smoke or no indication that he let up.
