The people with whom you work reflect your own attitude. If you are suspicious, unfriendly and condescending, you will find these unlovely traits echoed all about you. But if you are on your best behavior, you will bring out the best in persons with whom you are going to spend most of your waking hours.

From The Corner Of My Mind

* Coming to you via IPhone, I was pumping already at 7am.
* There is a light breeze blowing from the south. Add that to the 43 degree temperature and you have yourself a very chilly morning.
* I watched a special last night on the NBA channel about the relationship that Larry Bird and Magic Johnson shared on and off the court. It brought back some great memories of basketball for me. The high school that I graduated from didn't have a football team. Basketball was the main sport. So naturally I was interested in all things basketball. During that time 1976-1980 pro basketball was on an all time low. Then along comes Magic and Bird. After a NCAA game between the two in 1979 a rivalry begun that has yet been equaled. Their display of talent on the court was unmatched when playing each other, and in my opinion, has never been matched since. They brought back the sport of pro basketball to the common everyday working folks. Their rivalry at times sparked controversy between blacks and whites, at at other times helped bridge the gap. Sure, there have been players come and go since them, Micheal Jordan, Kobe Bryant, that were great players with enormous stats, but none have ever played like Bird and Magic. It's all about the money now. It's all about the player. I hope that someday the NBA can once again return to a respectful sport that it was during those times.
* I am so fired up about this weekend in NASCAR that I can barely sleep. The Camping World Truck series race starts off the weekend tonight with a championship on the line. Tomorrow the Nationwide series runs their last race and again, a championship is on the line, but it's not as close of a race as the truck series or Sprint Cup on Sunday. Three points separate Carl Edwards and Tony Stewart in the Sprint Cup final race for the Chase Championship in that series.
* A short breakdown if it will help you keep up with the points. They get one point for leading a lap. They get one point for leading the most laps. They get three points for winning the race. Then they get points for their finishing place. 43rd place gets one point and if you win you get 43 points for 1st place. So, the most points a driver can get in any given race is 48.
* If Tony can finish three places ahead of Carl he can win the Chase, if neither leads a lap or wins the race. If it were to end in a tie, Tony would win the Championship because he has won a race DURING the Chase races and Carl hasn't.
* I've come to inquire about the job, but I'm going to rob you first.
* We need more of this.
* Yeah right, Obama doing the two step? It would be more cool if he danced "The Bernie".
* I was driving when I was 9. Not to school, but all over the pastures.
* Again I say, I bet there are a whole lot more of these than the authorities know about.
* It's a bad year to be a college football coach.
* Sorry for the late post. Have a great weekend, see ya Around The Corner!

Honey, I love you but ... I'm sick of NASCAR talk. Thankful for this being the last race. I've tried to hold out and be a good, supportive wife. I just can't take it any more. So, I'm calling for an "Occupy the blog" movement! My demands are more precious pics of my gbabies, stories of my gbabies, a link to and occasional screen shots of cool DIY projects from "PINTEREST", and $100 to get permanent eyeliner. I will update my demands as needed.
Live you

P.S. some gorey surgery stories too!

What I don't understand is it seems you had such a great foundation for basketball, how in the heck did you fall into the Abyss?

BTW was that wspouse I saw yesterday running down the middle of 380, pulling out her hair and screaming. I thought she looked familiar but I was too afraid to get close enough for a positive ID.

That's right Mr. Answers, be afraid ... VERY afraid! At least until NASCAR is over, and hope and pray that Tony Stewart wins so we don't have to be afraid of Mr. Corner. lol ;-)))))))))

Me: I hate NASCAR. I've been, it's fine and all, but now I think it's boring.

Big Boy: That's not very nice. Daddy and I like it. It's a sport.

Me: [whatever...join the NASCAR Talk Team then....] You're right, baby. I'm sorry for dissing your sport.

Big Boy: Thank you.

Little Boy: Wait? You mean driving in circles and crashing is a sport?

Me: [Amen. I've been vindicated.]

Big Boy: Shut-up

Little Boy: That's so cool.

With the performance Carl Edwards is putting on in the Nationwide race I'm afraid we'll see a backward jump from the window tomorrow in the Cup race.

I don't like and I know you don't like it but I'm afraid that's what's going to happen.

Sorry ladies but I'm a NASCAR fan. I can't help it.
