The people with whom you work reflect your own attitude. If you are suspicious, unfriendly and condescending, you will find these unlovely traits echoed all about you. But if you are on your best behavior, you will bring out the best in persons with whom you are going to spend most of your waking hours.

From The Corner Of My Mind

* Last night we skipped the truck race so that we could attend senior night at the high school with our son. I'm guessing that will be the last time I have an opportunity to walk across a football field with a senior. I wouldn't have missed it. At first I was like "were gonna miss the truck race"? I knew what to do.
* We walked the field before the game, so W-spouse was ok with leaving at halftime and heading back to the campground.
* While waiting for her, I pulled up Twitter to catch what was happening during the race and saw where Ron Hornaday and Kevin Harvick were threatening to whip Kyle Busch ass. We had to run by the house and change clothes and get the dog, so I cranked up the TIVO. During lap 15 RH was trying to pass KB on the inside(while passing a lap down truck on the bottom) and got loose. When he did that, he lost it and put KB in the wall. At that time both trucks had minimal damage and could have probably have got back in the race and have a legitimate shot of winning the race. Now let me explain something. KB was just running for the win while RH is in a tight battle for the truck championship. So after both truck bumped the wall, KB was pissed off and ran up behind RH and pushed him down the track at 130-140 mph trying to spin him. When that didn't work he hooked his right rear bumper spinning RH hard into the wall and taking his own truck out at the same time. Both trucks sustained heavy damage and were finished for the night.
* Kyle Busch wasn't playing "have at it boys". He was trying to kill or hurt another driver. The wreck that he caused was not much different, or the impact was not much different than the crash that killed Dale Earnhart, and a few other drivers before him.
* Kyle was immediately called to the NASCAR trailer where he was only kept for 3 minutes, but he was told that he and his crew chief and owner would need to report to the NASCAR trailer today before sprint cup practice.
* It wouldn't surprise me if they didn't park him for the weekend.
* I'm torn about how this should be handled. On one hand I say turn them loose and let them fight it out, let KH or RH whip his ass. On the other I say, let them take it out on the track, but then you run the risk of hurting someone or tearing up another drivers equipment. Then on the other hand.....park his ass for the rest of the season.
* I've felt fine all day yesterday. One of our other members left the race early and came back to camp and went straight to bed. Hope this isn't a vicious cycle beginning.
* Today we head to the Nationwide race, it starts around noon, then back to camp for more cooking and visiting.
* When we arrived back last night, their were 30 people standing around the fire. I didn't recognize half of them. The fire pit tends to draw a crowd.
* In between the last few posts I ran up to the Brookshires store and bought 20 burritos and 20 sausage biscuits and my first cup of coffee.
* I started the fire pit this morning at 5:30 am. It was very peaceful all alone with my thoughts, and the sound of a 1000 generators humming in the distance. Only at a NASCAR campground.
* Deer season kicks off this morning. Good luck to all my friends and family. Although I used to hunt, I would much rather be here.
* Have a great weekend, see ya Around The Corner!
EDIT: 8:45 Micheal McDowell is being seat fitted for Kyle Busch #18 Sprint Cup car. Pending.....
EDIT EDIT: KYLE BUSCH CAN NOT PARTICIPATE FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE TEXAS WEEKEND. The question was asked to Mike Helton a few years ago,"when will you know when the drivers have crossed the line"?. This morning he responded "after all night discussions, it was determined that Kyle crossed the line".
Folks, now we know.

If that had happened on the street KB would have been charged with some type of attempted vehicular manslaughter. I understand this is a sport, and in any sport the athaletes are very competitive, but are rules and there have to be limits. In my opinion the punishment wasn't severe enough. He should have lost his rides for a number of weeks, if not the remainder of the season. In our society it is not acceptable to try to kill someone, maybe with the exception of self defense, wich this clearly was not. Maybe if the sports leagues held their athaletes to the letter of the law, we'd see more sport and less fights. It's not like there's a lack of evidence when it's on TV for the world to see.

Deliberately wrecking someone at high speed during a caution? ( Star-Tel.) I say lifetime exclusion from racing. Let him earn a living at that other thing he is good at; let's see, that is.........Oh yeah, whining. Most of those jobs are taken.
On a happy note. Smoke and Danica on the same team.
Nirvana!
Have a great weekend.
