From The Corner Of My Mind

* It's a foggy morning in North Texas. My commute was not fun.
* We had a great weekend, busy busy, but great.
* Saturday morning, W-spouse and I made our way to Denton to purchase a few things and to get a gift for an upcoming wedding this weekend. I bought a new Otterbox cover for my phone. It's amazing how scratched the old one was. I can see my texts and numbers on the phone again.
* Saturday evening we attended a get together with some friends. Actually some blog friends. Some of them, W-spouse not I had ever met. Mr. Answers and his wife were also in attendance.
* The hostess and her husband were very welcoming and provided some great food and drinks for all to share. Did I mention that the food was great?
* It was wonderful getting to put a face to the words that we read everyday.
* For those if you who missed the occasion, you missed a great time.
* I met Silicone Alley, her husband and two wonderful little boys.
* I met Ryan, @RSF788 on Twitter. He's used to be a regular blogger around here, but now follows Twitter faithfully. Great kid and I have known his father for years.
* Jarhead. Him, his wife and wonderful kids were there. His wife is a sweetheart. Her and W-spouse used to work together a few years ago. Jarhead? If you have ever doubted that Jarhead is any different than his Internet persona, your wrong. He is exactly the same in person as he is on here. His quick wit and humor kept us laughing all night. The "wheelchair accessible" remark nearly made me blush. That was a classic that will not be forgotten for a while. The purple shoes rocked!
* For those of you that were there, It was really great getting to meet you for the first time and meeting your families. For those of you that missed the event, maybe next time.
* Wow, those Rangers know how to keep you on the edge of your chair.
* Yesterday morning during our Bible class we were discussing Revelation. We were describing beasts in the 13th chapter and Mr. Answers described a beast as looking like Albert Pujols, who the night before had hit a home run in three consecutive at bats. Mr. Answers wasn't in the best of moods after that game Saturday night.
* The game on Sunday night was exciting and it looked like the reliever was going to load the bases there at the end, but as luck would have it, he struck out the batter and won the game. Another nail biter.
* One more full week of work and then a week full of racing activities.
* The race yesterday at Talledega was full of excitement from the drop of the green flag. Kyle Busch and Kevin Harvick got taken out early in a crash. Tony Stewart ran up front all day and at one point was running the fastest laps out front with  Joey Logano pushing him with a race car that didn't even have a left front fender. A couple of late yellow flags mixed things up for everyone and Tony was right in the front when the last caution went green. He either went to sleep, or spun his tires because he lost the lead with Paul Menard pushing him, opening the door for Burton and Bowyer to come flying by. At the end, it was Bowyer overtaking Burton to get the win.
* Next week we go to Martinsville. From the biggest race track to the smallest race track, this will get interesting.
* As of now, there are only 5 legitimate contenders for the Chase. Tony Stewart is still right in the mix in 4th place only 19 points behind the leader. The new points system has added up to a really close season ending race at Homestead in a few weeks.
* Be careful in the fog today, see ya Around The Corner!

I had a great time meeting you and W Spouse Saturday.

Looking forward to next time...

P.S. I had no idea that "he" was Mr. Answers until I read your post. I just thought he was a nice guy and his wife you brought along with you.

Answers? I don't know the questions. said...

Jar, I'm actually Corner's parole officer. Corner (does your name refer to the top of your head? just curious), I am impressed that you are trying to improve yourself by watching baseball. Keep up the good work!

Wspouse, Martha's been told to write that up for you! I'll have him email it to the Mr. =)

Mr. Answers & his wife are darling people. I *really* enjoyed hanging out w/them. Thought about Mr. A when I went to fill my "feeders" this AM...;)

Martha hated that he had to duck out a couple of times, and when my football player returned from his shower, he was shocked to find everyone gone! Funny quote: "What? I get home, take my shower and everyone leaves??" Social Bug was deflated. lol

Kathleen,

I've always been a fan but when you offered to shut up during the Ranger's game, you stole my heart.
