The people with whom you work reflect your own attitude. If you are suspicious, unfriendly and condescending, you will find these unlovely traits echoed all about you. But if you are on your best behavior, you will bring out the best in persons with whom you are going to spend most of your waking hours.

From The Corner Of My Mind

* When I left the house this morning the temperature showed 60 degrees, but by the time I made it to Ponder it was 49.
* Busy busy weekend. There wasn't much time for rest. Thursday/Friday I juggled time between waiting on the new furniture and doing things in preparation for the wedding.
* Saturday we made our way to the lake about 10:30 am and helped set up the wedding area and decorate. The weather was spectacular. The winds were calm and the temperature was in the mid 80s by the time of the wedding.
* The wedding went off without a hitch (no pun intended, it was a western themed wedding). Once again my sister designed and decorated everything. She has amazing decorating skills and she made all the corsages, boutonnieres and bouquets. I will post a few pictures later so you can see just how skilled she is.
* Thanks go out to Mom and Harold first of all for letting us invade the lake house once again, and for all the hard work they did preparing for the wedding. Thanks to my sister and Jim for everything you did and for the many weeks prior to this weekend, spending your own money and working so hard to make this a special event for Vicki and Travis. Thanks to Uncle Jim and Sharon for working so hard this weekend and helping out wherever you were needed. Thanks to Beth and David for bringing the hay out and for doing all the unseen things you did. Thanks to all the cousins for helping out in all the preparations. Thanks to everyone that showed up and also made this a special time for all of us, and for sticking around and helping clean up everything. Thanks to anyone that I may have left out.
* All the company finally left for home yesterday around 6pm and by 9 W-spouse and I collapsed.
* W-spouse even got called in for work yesterday evening for a few hours. I don't know how she did it, because I was beat down.
* I'm back working today after being off for 4 days. It didn't seem like 4 days.
* Well........The entertainment center arrived on Thursday. The reason you haven't seen pictures of it is because the TV console portion is the wrong size. They sent a 42" console instead of the 62". So now the fight begins on shipping the new one here and sending the wrong one back. Right now we have one of the end tables in its place with the TV on top of it.
* The theater seating arrived on Friday. One of the brackets was wrong to connect the left recliner to the arm rest/drink holder. They are sending the brackets in the mail for me to change out. UGGHHH. It's functional and you would never know it, unless you try to move it, just frustrating that it wasn't right.
* The DIRECTV technician didn't show up on Saturday as was planned either. They didn't have the right limiter switch that they needed, so they just didn't show up. Needless to say I wasn't very friendly with them on the phone.
* To gain access to the attic in the living room I have to remove a blade off of one of the ceiling fans. So I did that early Saturday morning. When I found out that the technician wasn't going to come I put the blade back on. While doing so (I was in a hurry because we needed to get to the lake) I pushed too hard on the fan and pulled the screws out of the ceiling and it came crashing down on top of me. Luckily cousin David was standing there and he and I caught it before it crashed to the floor and shattered. I put it all back up yesterday morning.
* We didn't make it to Church yesterday, my Dad stopped by before heading home and we went for breakfast.
* Hope your Monday is great, see ya Around The Corner!

FYI we were in the 12th chapter of Revelations. It was about the dragon and the two beasts. The dragon was of course, Satan also known as Lucifer. It spoke of the fall of Lucifer and 1/3 of the angels who were involved with the rebellion against God. One point of interest to me was Lucifer was created as the most beautiful of the angels and he was a guardian angel. I knew that he was cast down but I had not made the connection that he was the guardian angel that was guarding the Garden of Eden. I was never clear on the rebellion that he led but learned Sunday that the rebellion was the tempting of Adam and Eve in Eden.

The two beasts were the spiritual and the military arm of Rome. Some have incorrectly made the assumption that this was the Catholic Church. Rome's religion was Caesar. He set himself up as God and demanded all to worship him.

I forgot to tell you what we learned in Church. Monty explained the origin of the fish as a Christian symbol. The letters in Greek for fish stand for Jesus, Christ, Son, God, Savior. Also, the fish was a code with the early Christians. If you didn't know if someone was a Christian (remember Christians were persecuted till death), they could take their foot and draw the top arc of the fish in the dirt. If the person was a Christian, he would draw the bottom arc to complete the fish.

Also, an eight spoke circle was found in abundance next to the fish sign carved in old ruins. If you take the Greek letters that spell the work fish and lay them on top of each other, it is a perfect eight spoke wheel.

Wow, y'all were so busy with all the wedding preparations, new furniture deliveries, kinfolk coming in & diverting disaster with the ceiling fan that could have put you in the hospital. So happy all went well with the wedding. Hope Whitney wasn't absolutely exhausted after all that plus going into work, but pretty sure she must have been. This week is bound to be more restful for both of you. Mo
