It has been said this year that Decatur hasn't played anyone yet. They both played Springtown and Burkburnett, both teams even winning. Neither opponent caused Decatur to even stumble, but Bridgeport was losing both games at some point according to this. So what is my point? My point is that it's all talking smack. I don't care if your a Bridgeport Bull fan or a Decatur Eagles fan, you want to watch this game because both teams, always and without fail, come prepared for the biggest game of the year. A rivalry? Yes, but a rivalry game usually brings out the best of both teams and this one should be no exception. This game historically is one of the best High School football games in North Texas to watch.

My pick: Decatur has the best offense overall. Decatur has a good defensive front line, with the linebackers constantly seeking a target. Bridgeport has a good front line on defense, but nothing in the backfield, or secondary. I see Decatur picking the secondary apart with their passing attack. I see Bridgeport sticking with a ground attack and running game that is hard to beat. Turnovers will be the key to the win. Keep turnovers to a minimum and you will take the coveted jar of sand home.

Yeah, I might be a little partial to Decatur because our son played on the team this year until breaking his ankle/leg early in the season.

You say "Well Wendell, both of your girls graduated from Bridgeport and you lived there for 25 years".  I say "So what".
