Never be bullied into silence. Never allow yourself to be made a victim. Accept no one's definition of your life, but define yourself. Harvey S. Firestone

The people with whom you work reflect your own attitude. If you are suspicious, unfriendly and condescending, you will find these unlovely traits echoed all about you. But if you are on your best behavior, you will bring out the best in persons with whom you are going to spend most of your waking hours.

Some people get spiritual because they see the light and some people get spiritual because they feel the heat!

From The Corner Of My Mind

* The temperature is going to be back in the 100s all week. The rain was much needed. Thank you God!
* BON is back from his trip to New York. Happy Birthday to the BON blog also.
* Can you do New York over a 4 day weekend and see enough to make it worth the trip? Assuming you take in a Broadway show on one of the nights?
* I probably won't make six years with this blog. I will be lucky to make one.
* The race at Watkins Glen was rained out yesterday and is postponed till this morning at 9:00am our time. I'm listening to it on the radio right now and there are rain showers still lingering.
* They got the Nationwide race in on Saturday. Kurt Bush won it filling in for Brad Keselowski driving his car because he injured his ankle in practice last week and needed to give it a rest before the Sprint Cup race. It was a classic ending with him, Jimmy Johnson, CarlEdwards and his brother Kyle Busch all diving into turn one for the lead. It was a tense few minutes until Kurt pulled away from all of them and took the win.
* Both of the grandkids and their families had supper with us at Dos Chilis on Saturday night. It was so much fun and they are growing up fast as you can see in the pics below.
* Madison has gotten to when she hears a sudden loud noise it scares her beyond bad. I scooted my chair across the floor and it made a schreeching sound and she came unglued for a few moments. I finally had to give her back to baby momma to calm her down. Yesterday we stopped by their house for a few minutes and she handed her into the window of my pickup and she did it again.
* We went out to W-daughter #2 house and took their engagement pictures. Their wedding is western themed and we took all the picture using hay bales, saddle and barns for backdrops and props. The pictures all turned out great. My future son-in-law is going to have to learn how to smile though. He is a rough and scruff cowboy and doesn't do the picture taking thing very well.
* I am so lucky that both of my daughters are photogenic. Their skin tone, skin texture and smiles are outstanding, making them so easy to photograph.
* I made a funny comment on FB the other day and it got 15 comments and 4 likes.
* For those of you wondering. I got the estimate on fixing the boat. That is going to be put on the back burner for a while. Not only is the lower unit trash, but also the upper unit. I will either have it fixed over the winter, or find a replacement unit and fix it myself.
* I got invited to a Quinceanera on Saturday night. I didn't get to attend but W-stepson attended one in Bridgeport with his girlfriend. They had a good time he said.
* Time to get to work, see ya Around The Corner!

We made New York in 4 days, 3 nights, Manhattan and the statue of Liberty, saw a lot of stuff made it worth going, but definitely could have used a few more days for Queens, The Bronx and so on. It is like walking around a Movie Set. Every where you look you see things you see on TV every week, and in almost every movie. Pretty Cool. Red Top Tour bus rules.

Your blog is my lifeline to Texas and home. Keep it going. As for New York, the Statue of Liberty will begin a refurbishment very soon, so may want to consider that before you go. If you want the truth from my point of view, I don't think New York is all it is made out to be. Just my opinion. I hated it. You would be a whole lot better coming to Iowa to see your favorite sister. Just sayin'!

BTW, visit New York! Manhattan is a, "Wow, I'm here!" moment. =)
