From The Corner Of My Mind

* Another scorcher coming up today. It was miserable yesterday if you HAD to be out in it.
* Question for those of you who have an RV. If you had to camp with small children (1-2 year olds), would you get a camper with bunks, or go with the traditional styling and pull out the couch or make the dinette down?
* You lose a lot of living room/kitchen area with a RV that has a bunkhouse in either the rear or front. So do you go with a bunkhouse style and lose the space, or go with a lot of space and sleep the guests on the couch or dinette?
* It is my opinion that you don't entertain much on the inside of the RV. Most of the time you spend outside. So I feel like going with a bunkhouse style is the way to go. That way the children or guests have their own area/room for privacy, and you won't bother them when you get up early and make coffee or watch TV. Your thoughts?
* Yeah, W-spouse and I are looking at another RV. Next year we are taking the grandkids camping, even if she and I have to take a couple of vacation days every month.
* I don't think we will buy a new one. There are way to many used ones out there that are in excellent shape and cost half as much.
* Since we have the Black Beauty now, we can go with either a fifth wheel or bumper pull. Fifth wheels give you more room but take up all the space in the bed of the pickup. They are also more efficent and easier to pull. A bumper pull leaves you all the room in the bed of the truck but are longer to pull overall and tend to sway more. It's a toss up on bunkhouse configurations on either one.
* I just heard Reba Mcentire is going to be on Sirius NASCAR radio tomorrow morning. I likes me some Reba. I would love to meet her someday. W-spouse doesn't feel the same way. She's not a Reba fan. Whatever......
* W-spouse likes Nora Jones. Who the heck is that?
* She and I both worked till after 7 last night. That was a long day. If you remember, we started at 4am yesterday. We were both asleep by 10.
* Anyone wat to see some ice fall?
* Fred Imus died. He did some funny, sometimes dirty, skits on the radio. His brother Don, and Howard Stern have never gotten along.
* Oh great, now people are killing their kids because they can't afford to send them to school. What was she thinking?
* That's a long time to be lost on the bottom.
* Have a great day, see ya Around The Corner!

Bunkhouse is the ONLY way to go with small children! We got ours when our kids were 2 & 3, we chose the bunkhouse option because we like to sit and play cards late at night. We have a fifth wheel and yes it does take up the bed of the truck, it pulls a lot better than the bumper pull we had before. We just made sure we got a fifth wheel that made up for the lost space.

Our bottom bunk folds up and we carry the kids bikes and our extra stuff in there. :)

Happy RV hinting to y'all!

What an awful, awful story about the "mother" in MD. That poor kid....put thru weight loss academy only to be murdered?? So sad.....

Re: RV, I say bunks! Our boys LOVED the bunks (obviously) and the privacy curtain was actually really great...they'd close up and it was as though they had gone to bed in their "rooms." The kitchen table bed was comfy for the Girl, but it left the living area askew every morning. We'd send her back to our bed & make it up. Also, the sofa blowup bed was a PAIN to deal with and same deal -- mess in the living area and VERY hard to get around. I say go with bunks. They'll always be handy!

And cool....I know some real Griswalds. ;-)

Chele, btw, we looked at a bunch of RVs while hanging out in the various RV Parks & we've decided that a fifth wheel is the way to go! Hope to get one someday. =)

Ok honey, I'll see your "whatever" and raise you a "SERIOUSLY"! Don't be hatin on my musical preference Mr. Abba, Mr. Captain & Tennille, Mr. Beegees. That's right, I just put your ipod on front street.

There's some crazy, shocking, and almost unbelievable things reported in the news.

Is it just us or don't most people feel the way the floor traders were depicted, every month when it's time to pay bills? Head in hand, look of disbelief with a little horror mixed in! I mean is it really a surprise? Unexpected? Debt crisis! Income and investments up and down, expenses up, prices up. Is it the American way?

P.S. thanks A.S., high five back, WE rock!

That's what you get for allowing someone who knows where all the bodies are buried to have an internet device.

bunk house and 5th wheel. Also from experience--mileage is the same from 28' up, so don't skimp on size thinking you will save a tree.

6:00am to 9:00pm today through Saturday. 6:00am to 2am Sunday. In Atlanta, with am arm in a sling. I hate golf and Tiger is here. I'm thinking I should have waited another week to go back to work.
Bumper pull with anti sway and a pipe rack over the cab to put a small boat on. Room for the motor and big grill in the bed. Maybe a bicycle or 5.
Just sayin...

i think we are going to get a toy-hauler on the next go round .... we saw one the other day that had bunks on hydraulic poles in the hauler space... when you aren't using the bunks, the slide up to the top and you have open space for toy hauling... or in my case, a deep freeze, washer and dryer....
