The judge gave her 4 years. The State of Florida is looking in to charging her with some sort of restitution for all the costs incurred. Can they do that?
So say you up and find a dead body laying beside the road. You call 911 and report it. The cops show up and something looks fishy to them so they arrest you and charge you with murder. You know that you didn't have anything to do with the murder, and there is no eveidence showing that you did, yet you stand trial for it. The jury finds you innocent of all charges. So then the State can come back and make you pay for the trial and all costs inncurred?
I'm not comparing my story to the Casey Anthony trial, just wondering if that is true?

Which is worse? Finding a guilty person innocent or finding an innocent person quilty. If the glove doesn't fit then you must acquit.

so many things about this trial bother me... it was completely botched... even by the judge according to some... breaks my heart that a child died...but...they did not prove anything in court...
and i don't see how in the world they can hold Casey financially responsible for the trial... that makes absolutely NO SENSE
I think they are looking for restitution for the elements related to the lies for which she was convicted. They want to recoup money for the expenses related to the wild goose chases she caused.
I was told today that Tarrant County will no longer give you free council that you have to pay $100 a month.
