* It's good to be back at work after a week off on vacation. Did I just say that?
* It was hot last week in the Hill Country, but it was even more humid. Humidity beats me down.
* We were all glad to be home in our own beds and to see the dog. Thanks to the ex for keeping him last week.
* A week of fun was had by all. I never heard a complaint out of any of the kids and everyone was extremely appreciative for the vacation and accommodations.
* Thanks to W-spouse for her efforts in finding the rental cabin and organizing the week so that all the kids and grandkids could do something they enjoyed. She is already in the planning stages for next year.
* When we left last weekend, my thought was that the yard would not need mowing again for two to three weeks. When we returned, I found out that 5 inches of rain could make a yard grow 6 inches in a week. I spent the better part of Saturday catching up on yard work, while W-spouse caught up on a weeks worth of laundry.
* Kurt Busch wins the road race yesterday, actually dominating most of the race. Tony Stewart and Brian Vickers had some drama beating and banging on each other. Juan Pablo was his usual "run into someone and push them out of the way" self on a road course. Jeff Gordon cried his way to a second place finish. Kyle Busch had a top ten car all day and raced like a true Champion should.
* Thanks to most everyone for the great comments and emails last week.
* We traveled 1135 miles round trip last week. Over half of that was spent pulling a 26' bumper pull camper and my new truck averaged 11.4 MPG for the trip. There was a 25-30 MPH headwind going south and I only averaged around 9.5 on the way down. I pulled the camper about 65-70 most of the time and the 6.7 liter never even shifted out of 6th gear unless I shifted down to pass someone.
* When we got home, I discovered that our home PC must have taken a lightning strike. Everything else was working fine but the PC. I tried in vain to turn it on, even plugging it in to a different outlet. It was plugged into a surge protector and everything else that was plugged into it was fine. I purchased a new one late Saturday and spent the better part of Saturday night and most of the day Sunday getting it all back up and running. Thankfully I had ran the backup before we left and we didn't lose anything except all our purchased music in ITunes. I didn't put it on a backup disk. If there is one thing that I hate Apple for, it's that. There should be a way for them to back that up. Sure, they know you purchased it. Sure, they know you purchased all the Apps, but if you try to load them on a new PC, I couldn't find a way. I was able to recover all our saved music that we loaded off of cd's or loaded off the Internet, but not the things we had purchased through ITunes. Yes, I transferred purchases off of all the devices, but they NEVER showed up.Double UGGGHHHH!!!
* Our preacher and his wife took their daughter out to Amarillo for her college orientation this weekend and while there, he and some friends were playing golf and he suffered another heart attack. He was transferred out of ICU yesterday to a regular room and is doing a lot better. He should get to come home this week. Please keep him and his family in your prayers.
* Thanks for reading and have a blessed day. See ya Around The Corner!

The people with whom you work reflect your own attitude. If you are suspicious, unfriendly and condescending, you will find these unlovely traits echoed all about you. But if you are on your best behavior, you will bring out the best in persons with whom you are going to spend most of your waking hours.

call Apple, they will help you. The new iOS coming in September will allow updates over Wi-Fi and will know your entire purchase history, so even if Apple won't help, you will get your purchases back when you upgrade in September.
I don't understand Sprint Cars running a course at go cart speeds. Is it just to prove they can turn right as well as left?
Would not want to be Brian Vickers next week. Can you imagine what it was like in Smoke's car as he sat on those tires like a turtle on a fence post?
Welcome home. I surely did enjoy taking a vacation vicariously through you and yours. Thanks for putting the effort out to share all of that with us.
Raced like a true champion would? Really?
