From The Corner Of My Mind

* THE DALLAS MAVERICKS ARE THE 2011 NBA CHAMPIONS!
* Dirk was off his game, Jet was on fire, that is why they won. They played as a team, with contributions from everyone. Not just three great players trying to showboat, and a bunch of good players watching.
* Word from the Cleaveland Cavaliers camp: "There are no shortcuts to a championship, you have to build".
* Yesterday started out great. We went to church and had a great bible class and sermon. Then we headed to the lake making sure the race was being recorded to watch later. After putting the boat in the water we went over to one of our favorite anchor spots where we were waiting on another boat load of friends to arrive. I jumped in the water and was swimming around the boat when I noticed that my registration was out. Not only was it expired, but it expired in August of 2010? WTH? I know that I renewed it online, but where was the stickers and card? Well I decided that there wasn't anything I could do about it and just accept the consequences if I were to get checked. Note, August of 2010. We went to the lake numerous times after August of last year spending the whole 3 day weekend of Labor day weekend out there and never got checked, or no one, including myself noticed that it was out. I unloaded the boat last Saturday morning during the weigh in of the childrens fishing tournament with numerous Game Wardens there and no one noticed, again, not even me. After swimming for a while we decided to head over to Steele Island and see what was going on over there. After arriving, in less than five minutes, a Game Warden pulled up next to me and wrote me a ticket for no registration. About five minutes later, the other members of our party pulled up announcing the fact that Jeff Gordon had just won the race at Pocono. I nearly tied the anchor to my ankle and jumped in at that time.
* When I got home, I immediately got on the computer and tried to renew my boat registration and this message came up. "Your registration is current and you cannot renew this within 90 days of the current registration". So....apparently I did register it. I searched the house far and wide for the stickers and cards. I must have "disposed of them properly".
* So this week I get to go and purchase duplicate stickers and get a new card, and then take that to the judge and hopefully get it dropped. If not.....Once again, I was wrong and will pay for it accordingly.
* What made it even worse that one of our friends that was out there yesterday with us is a local law enforcement officer and he just had to give me crap about it. He hates Gordon also, so I let it slide.
* NASCAR news. Jeff Gordon won.......nuff said. Kevin Harvick gets a warning from NASCAR officials during the race telling him that he needs to "stop the shananigans now" if he doesn't want to get black flagged. He was picking on Kyle Busch somehow, I haven't seen it yet so I really don't know what happened. Also, Kyle Busch failed post race inspection after finishing in third place. The car passed the pre race inspection but failed after the race. 1/16 of an inch higher than the tolerance that is already given them for the rear quarter panels. And to think, some of you think Kevin Harvick does no wrong or doesn't act like a bully on track? Give me a break.....he's an ass, plain and simple.
* This may be the only race of the season that I delete from the Tivo without waching it. It will just be depressing all over again.
* Txtrigger....Tell your hubby that next year he needs to hook me up at Pocono. I will help him string cables or whatever, as long as I can dissapear during the race!
* 100 degrees all week. Hello Quadalupe river....
* Have a blessed day, see ya Around The Corner!

Hey I know you think KB is the greatest driver ever in the entire history of NASCAR and you have pretty much christened him greater than Pearson, Petty, Earnhardt, Johnson, etc...but Remember what I said about Gibbs being a cheater...Looky there at KB's car not passing inspection. How many championships has he won again? You need a new driver boss.

Could you please tell Mrs. Around the Corner that we are going to have a meeting about the football program Wednesday at South Beach Taco around 5? I don't know if they contacted her or not, but need all the help I can get. You are more than welcome to come yourself. I read your blog everyday, sorry to use the comments to get information out.
