From The Corner Of My Mind

* It's way to hot to be June. If this is any indication of what we are in store of for the summer, it is going to miserable. I'm glad we installed a new AC at our house.

Question: What is todays day and date?  Friday, June 10th 2011. You are correct! So what do you win? 6 tickets to the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race tonight at 8:00pm at Texas Motor Speedway. The tickets are seating at the Speedway Club Section in in turn 1. Great seats. Actually tonight, you can probably set just about anywhere you want too that there isn't already a butt in the chair. Leave me a contact number in the comments, I won't post your information. You must be able to meet me sometime today around the Rhome-Haslet area to pick up the tickets, or possibly Decatur late this evening. If you want to get an early start, you will need to get them sooner. There is also a Crystal Parking pass which allows you to park right across from the Speedway Club. You can drop off in front and go park, walking less than 200 yards to the front of the Club.  First come, first served. SERIOUS INQUIRIES ONLY PLEASE.
* We had some scheduling conflicts arise so we can't go, and I hate for the tickets to go to waste.
* W-spouse is on call tomorrow for the last time. She is returning a favor for one of her co-workers that is attending ROT rally in Austin this weekend.
* I saw numerous motorcycles headed south yesterday and today. It didn't dawn on me till yesterday where they were headed till I read a commentors post on Twitter yesterday. This is the second week of June and the 17th year of  R.O.T. Rally . Up until a few years ago, I had made all but 2 of them. For four years we kept a camping spot secured on the parade route. We were there a four years ago when an Austin reporter bought a pass and walked around inside the park taking pictures of the events taking place within the rally grounds. The reporter then took the pictures and gave them to city hall claiming that underage participants were being exposed to the things going on. One reason that we stopped going was that the crowd was looking MUCH younger, and folks at most motorcycle rallies that I have attended, it is no place for an kid to be. After much investigation by the authorities, no violations were found and no evidence of children being allowed to participate were found. If I was guessing, they didn't want to find anything and shut anything down due to the flow of money that ROT rally provides to the Austin area during the second week of June every year.

* The Mavs looked great last night. They played defense well. Mr Answers will tell you this, "Defense breeds Offense". Be warned, I am going to judge people here, but the Miami team looks like a bunch of thugs.
