Never be bullied into silence. Never allow yourself to be made a victim. Accept no one's definition of your life, but define yourself. Harvey S. Firestone

The people with whom you work reflect your own attitude. If you are suspicious, unfriendly and condescending, you will find these unlovely traits echoed all about you. But if you are on your best behavior, you will bring out the best in persons with whom you are going to spend most of your waking hours.

Some people get spiritual because they see the light and some people get spiritual because they feel the heat!

How do you know if you're truly a servant? See how you react the next time someone treats you like one.

From The Corner Of My Mind

* It's hot, and it looks like it's going to be hot all week. A little early in the year for these temps already.
* Attended the funeral of my co-worker on Friday morning. Should I say I attended the Mass of my co-worker? Most of the service was in Spanish, and I didn't understand much of it. Saint Maria was repeated many times and we stood up and set down quite a few times. I need to read up on the Catholic service to understand it better. He was buried at Paradise and our company provided lunch for the family at the Church of Christ off of 2123 in Bridgeport. A good man cut short in the prime of his life, leaving behind 7 children, 3 of them under the age of 14. You will be missed Joe Gonzales.
* Saturday morning I set out to the lake before 10 am. Both of the girls and Madison met me at the park and we swam and boated for hours. W-daughter #2 even wakeboarded for a short while. W-spouse met us around 2 pm and we then met Mom and Harold at the lakehouse to help them unload some mattresses. We let the girls and Madi out at the park and W-spouse and I went boat riding and swimming some more, when we finally started home at dusk. I left my shirt off all day and I am sun burned.
* I was stopped on my way home by a Bridgeport Police officer for a cracked tail light lens on my boat trailer(warning ticket). I had a long rant typed up to post about this incident but it is probably better to just leave it alone. I'm over it. My tail light was cracked and inoperable. I was at fault.
* Sunday morning W-spouse and I attended Bible class and moning worship services at church. Our morning service was given by the outgoing head of SEND ministries and we all got to meet the missionaries that will be based out of Central Fellowship, Beto and Ashley Leguna. They are a wonderful spirit filled couple that will be a blessing to the world. I am excited to be a part of this great new venture at our church.
* After church all but one of the kids and both grandbabies (Kyle was working at the FD) came to the house to celebrate my birthday with pizza and cake. I recieved some very nice gifts and cards. Thanks to all my blog friends, commentors, friends and family for all the well wishes on the blog and on Facebook. Thanks to Mo and Big Dude for the song (a tradition that I hope to keep going).
* The rest of the day I spent laying around doing NOTHING!
* There is a huge amount of drama in the NASCAR world this morning. Apparently Kyle Busch and Richard Childress got into a pushing/shoving/fist slinging altercation in the NASCAR garage over the weekend. Dale Jr is pissed because for the second week in a row he ran out of gas towards the end of the race. Although he finished second in the race, he is third overall in the points. If he keeps running in the top 5, he will get a win soon. NASCAR radio is predicting that Richard Childress will be fined heavily for his part in the altercation. It was not during the Sprint Cup race that Kyle Busch is already on probation for because of his and Kevin Harvicks antics, so they aren't speculating about his punishment.
* Brad Keselowski won the Sprint Cup race because he conserved fuel better than anyone else. The first time a Dodge has been in winners circle since May of last year.
* Time to go to work, see ya Around The Corner!

Conserving gas shouldn't be a part of racing. You should be able to go foot in the carb the whole way.
Did the King or the Intimidator ever run of gas?
I think the bean counters have taken over.

hey you never called me back..
I'll speak about my felllow people. Cuz you know who I mean.
Some people that get certain jobs take advantage of thier position. I was and am the one who still considers it my honor to protect and serve the people I work for.

You have to understand also that in small towns you get alot of pressure from the "brass" or bosses because tickets are revenue and you have to do it. That being said just because you have to doesnt mean you should. We work under what's called "Officers discretion" and that means make your own decision.
I used to post what I called lessons on my facebook page which amused my friends and family. Because of others not using their common sense and posting material that shouldn't be I was no longer allowed to write my lessons.
The uniform doesn't give you the authority to do and say what you want to people
That uniform should remind you that it's ok to let people know that you do care and that you are not like everybody else. Before anybody makes the mistake that I'm a touchy feely kind cop let me explain.
I try and teach the younger ones that I have a knob and it starts off at nice but if who I'm interacting with wants to crack that knob to full a**hole then they deserve the repercussions of their actions.
Cuz I dont make excuses for others and I know there are idiots in uniform out there but all I ask from people is don't judge us all by the idiots you come in contact with.
Oh and Cuz on the other matter you tell D from me that I apologize for the ignorance of some of my people in uniform

sorry to ramble Cuz but you know me and the soapbox LOL

57 year old richard childress kicked Kyle Bush's ass. That spoiled little brat learning the hard way aint he? Didn't Nolan Ryan do the same thing late in his career with some young puke that charged the mound?
