* 6:00 am and it's very peaceful on the banks of the river this morning. Next door there are a few people loading their bags into the car. Makes you wonder if they are just getting an early start, or if something happened and they had to leave this early. After visiting with them yesterday we found out that it's a family of 9 siblings and most of their children. There were 17 people the first night and what looked to be twice that many last night. They all try to get together here every year.
* Yesterday started with a wonderful Kolache breakfast. The girls and I then took a quick frigid swim in the river. After Mom and Papa Harold arrived, they took over babysitting duties and we set off for a road trip. We had lunch at the Gruene River Cafe and then browsed around Gruene and did a couple of wine tastings. We then made our way out to Boerne, then north to Sisterdale. From there we went to Luckenbach, where we browsed the country store and had a few cold ones while listening to some great picking and singing out under the trees on the patio.
* W-daughter #2 ran around taking pictures of all the chickens and roosters. She was more amazed by them than the history of the place. W-daughter #1 was disappointed that Waylon and Willie wasn't there playing.
* We then made our way back toward the river via the Blanco route. When we got back, the cousins from Houston had arrived. We then all donned the swimsuits, including Granny D, and went swimming in the river. We stayed in the water till nearly dark.
* After that, I fired up the grill and cooked burgers while W-spouse prepared the fixings. It was a wonderful finish to the day.
* It was so excited to get to spend so much quality time with my family. I laid in bed last night and thanked the Lord for giving us this time together.
* Yesterday was one of the most memorable times in my life. It just all came together perfectly and everyone had a great time.
* Madison is being such a good baby. She hasn't cried or fussed at all. She has went swimming with us 3 times and just loves the water. She slept 3 hours for Granny D while she kept her yesterday.
* The water isn't flowing really enough to tube the Guadalupe river so today we are going over to the Comal river to float it. Granny D and Papa are going to watch Madison again while we float and she's going to make a spaghetti supper for all of us.
* I'm looking out over the river this morning and it's so still. The wind isn't blowing and it's very peaceful. The water is so clear that from the porch I can see fish swimming around. One of the neighbors caught a trout yesterday.
* Madison and W-daughter # 2 just came up from downstairs so it's time to get some Papa time.
* Have a blessed day, see ya Around The Corner!

The people with whom you work reflect your own attitude. If you are suspicious, unfriendly and condescending, you will find these unlovely traits echoed all about you. But if you are on your best behavior, you will bring out the best in persons with whom you are going to spend most of your waking hours.
