From The Corner Of My Mind - Guadalupe River Edition

* We left Wise County yesterday morning arriving in Austin in time to catch lunch with the in-laws. From there we made our way south to New Braunfels to a Walmart to purchase the remaining groceries and beverages. We arrived at our river house around 4:30 and started unloading and unpacking.
* W-stepson and I put our swimsuits on and made our way down to the river. It's about 30 yards out the back door. It's about 2' deep at the steps getting in and barely gets over my head all the way across. It's running a little, just enough to keep fresh water going by. The water temperature is just right. Not cold, but cool enough to be refreshing.
* When we got out, W-spouse had club sandwiches made for us.
* W-daughters and Madison showed up about 6:30 and after unloading their gear, we made another trip to Wallyworld. When we got home, the kids all went swimming in the river after dark and hung out on on the patio listening to tunes and maybe having a few cold refreshments.
* Our cabin is much more than we ever expected. A three story house with 3 full baths and 1 half bath. Enough beds to sleep an army. Google MooCow Cabins and pull up the Red Barn. That's the one we are staying in.
* This place is amazing and great quality for the money. It's a little expensive, but the size and quality of the accommodations far exceed our expectations. Everything works and there are lots of things already provided for that we really didn't need to bring. There was already a high chair for the babies even.
* 4 other members of our party will be arriving today at different times. A couple from Houston and Papa and Granny D spent last night in Marble Falls and should be here around noon.
* Papa Harold is going to make a run south for peaches before they get here.
* I received the best gift ever for Fathers day. The girls made me a photo album book. The first page is a picture of them and me. The rest of the pages are pictures of the girls growing up in various age ranges and at different places.
* W-spouses first day hasn't started out well. She's got a bad headache and she didn't drink a drop of anything last night but water and Gatorade. I got to hold Madison when she woke up this morning. She was so happy and full of smiles for Papa.
* Today after Papa Harold and Granny D get here, they are going to babysit Madison and we are going on a wine tasting trip and head out to Lukenbach.

Second.....to the anon poster who went by the house and stopped by to watch tv. First of all, you wouldn't be posting a comment because you would probably either be in the hospital or dead. Our stepson is staying at the house and he's armed....and dangerous. He's also big enough to chew you up and crap you out like breakfast, so drop on by there big boy.
To the rest of you, thanks for the comments. We will have a great time. Juanita, tell your mom that H and D made it safe and sound. The girls and I already had their camper set up for them this morning.
