From The Corner Of My Mind

* We spent the weekend at the lakehouse with the family. A reat time was had by all. Papa Harold and I cooked fish for about 30 people on Saturday evening. There was more fried fish than could be eaten. Can't say so much for my cousins homeade tarter sauce. She made a huge bowl of it and it was gone before I go to go through the serving line. She made me a bowl of it on Sunday to eat with the leftovers. Thanks you very much Cuz!
* We pulled the boat out to the lake but never put it in the water because the wind never quit blowing. High winds and heavy boat traffic does not equate to a fun time, so we never launched it. Actually, W-spouse nor I ever got into the water and even went swimming. We kept Madison on Saturday and Sunday, so we just never took the time to jump in.
* W-spouse and W-stepson #3 went to the movie showing of Hangover 2 last night. I stayed at home and relaxed. Neither of them commented about it when they got home, so maybe she will give a movie review later if she has time.
* W-spouse starts her new position today at the hospital. Hopefully she won't be on her feet as much and her knee will have time to heal.
* Sister and B-in-law came in from Iowa and spent the weekend at their lakehouse. It was good getting to visit with them also. B-law and I watched most of the race on Sunday.
* If you missed either the Indy 500 or the Coca Cola 600 this weekend, you missed two exciting finishes. The winner of the Indy 500 won because the leader crashed into the wall coming out of turn 4 on the last lap, less than a 1/4 of a lap from the finish line. It was heartbreaking to see him lose like that.
* The Coca Cola 600 was won in the last 500 feet because the leader ran out of gas in turn 4 on the last lap. Kevin Harvick won only because he had enough fuel to finish and Dale Jr did not. Kevin Harvick DID NOT deserve to win. He had a crappy car all night and once again, was in the right place at the right time. KH has won three races this year and just for grins, here is a few of his stats this year. He has won three races this year.  He has led only 9 laps all year. He is in second place in the championship points(remember what I have posted prior about this) only 36 points behind the point leader Carl Edwards. He started the race in 28th place. You don't win championships by being in the right place at the right time with a crappy car. His luck in that manner will run out. If they get his car back running like it was at the beginning of the season, he will be a firm contender for the championship. With the new points system in place and with the wild card rule, him having three wins nearly quarantees him a spot in the chase.
* I still despise Kevin Harvick and anything he represents. The only good thing about Budweiser is their commercials.
* Oh yeah, Gordon finished 20th. Tony Stewart finished 17th and wasn't a contender all night. Kyle Busch finished 32nd after spinning out twice and finally tagging the wall bad enough to ruin his car. They repaired it, but he came out and was black flagged on his first lap out. All three had led the race at various points throughout the race.
* If you watched the race and know anything about racing. Do you think there should have been a yellow flag thrown after Burton crashed during the last two laps with Dale Jr leading? I have seen flags thrown for a lot less during a race. I have listened to NASCAR radio for 2 days and their opinion was that there should NOT have been a flag. I would like to hear NASCARs official take on it, but that is something that will never happen.
* There is still no word on what happened to our co-worker that passed away on Friday, nor are there plans yet for his burial. Please continue to pray for his family during this time.
* It's always feels good when people tell me that they read my blog. Over the weekend, some friends and family that I haven't seen in a while told me that they have been following and keeping up with all our comings and goings via this blog.
* Ratherbesailing: The road going down between your old place and your neighbors has narrowed down somewhat since you left. There has been a wall built down close to where you went out to your dock. When people have tried to make the corner with a boat trailer turning hard left, they have knocked the corner off the new wall.
* Thanks for reading my blog today, see ya Around The Corner!

running out of fuel sucks, but Kevin got the win, and the points for doing so.

Had someone I know telling about a distance horse race he went to a couple weeks ago. Asked how he did and said he was "leading the race and would have won it, but his horse got cut up on its leg 7 miles from the end and he had to stop". This guy is pretty much an idiot, and does not understand that riding smart, safe, and thinking about the speed he is riding the horse down the trail is a contributing factor in the fact he did NOT finish.

Bottom line is, Kevin still crossed the line first. Crappy car or not.

Still trying to figure out how Jeff Gordon managed to get the gas out of Jr.'s car from way back in 20th place.

Just thinking about those fresh crappie you and Hard Heavy cooked makes my mouth water.

kudos to nascar for not throwing the yellow flag at end of race...as much as i would have liked to see jr break his dry spell i dont think any true fan wants to see him do it like that. Harvick sucks. They know they didn't deserve that damn win. But its a moot point he doesn't have the car or the skills to compete for the championship and his luck will run out sooner or later.

if my man kasey hadn't of spun his tires on that last restart then he woulda won it fo sho!!! dammit Kasey!!!
