From The Corner Of My Mind

* 60 Degrees when I left home this morning. It's now 41 degrees and the wind is blowing hard right out of the North. According to the weather Guru's, it's supposed to be in the 70s again by the weekend.
* Had a roofing contractor come by yesterday to look at the leak and give us his opinion. He said he would shoot me an estimate sometime today.
* Last night we spent the evening at the 2012 Decatur Eagles football banquet. It was long and drawn out, but it's was nice to hear each one of the coaches speak about individual players. It was really nice to NOT hear them give accolades to just two or three players. The boys played as a team this year and deserved to be recognized as a team. Some very nice words were spoken about W-stepson #3, even though he broke his ankle in the second game of the season. One coach even went as far to say this, "I am really disappointed to not have gotten to see what Cole could have done this year". "He worked the whole off season last summer preparing for this year, only to have it taken away".
* The lady that was in charge of the decorating went all out. Some of the senior moms helped her with decorating yesterday and I must say that it looked really nice.
* The food at the Decatur Civic center was great. I had chicken fried steak, green beans and potatoes. I might have had a slice of apple pie towards the end.
* I love the comments about the Jeep.
* One individual seems to think that because I believe in God that I shouldn't be out ""tearing up God's creation"". Are you kidding me? I bet that very commenter got in a vehicle, started it and drove it to work, school or to the grocery store emitting toxic gases through the exhaust.
* I wonder if when that  person farts that they have this moment that they stop and think "hey I just added to the destruction of Gods creation by polluting the atmosphere". Sheeez
* Ratherbesailing. Yes, I think that Danica has the potential to win a race this year. Perhaps even a Sprint Cup race if she is in the right position in a fuel mileage race. I also think that she has the potential to pass Dale Jr as the most popular driver within a few years.
* Time to get to work, see ya Around The Corner!

There is a local young man that just signed on with the David Ragan race team. He is 15 years old and lives in Decatur. His name is Andy Hogan and the kid is good. He will be learning how to do the pits stops now. He has been racing the Legend cars and has won several times in Atlanta. Just some local news. lol

I just put a new metal roof on my house. Cost me about $2200 but it will be 20+ years before I have to worry about it again.

Danica may eventually win a race, but I don't see it happening this year.

i just love the football banquets... ours is generally pretty miniscule but it's nice for the assistant coaches to have a chance to recognize their players....

Bridgeport also, had their Football Banquet and it was the same for us, Coaches said great things about all of the players and recognized their efforts..and I agree it felt wonderful to hear.
Especially in our case, my son also broke his ankle in football this year..If felt great knowing they didnt forget not so much his efforts, but what he did after his injury..We have some great Coaches....(btw...ankle is stronger than ever(thanks to his great Doctor and therapist at fit-n-Wise)he squated 490 at a recent powerlift meet and won his division!!
