The people with whom you work reflect your own attitude. If you are suspicious, unfriendly and condescending, you will find these unlovely traits echoed all about you. But if you are on your best behavior, you will bring out the best in persons with whom you are going to spend most of your waking hours.

From The Corner Of My Mind

* Temperature near 60 degrees this morning. In January? I fear a long cold February.
* As you might have heard, we are proud new owners of a Jeep. All weekend we spent either riding around in it, or tinkering with it.
* Saturday morning we decided to try the Bridgeport OHV Park out. You pull up to the guard shack, sign a waiver, pay $25 per vehicle and they turn you loose on 400 plus acres of fun.
* Some of the trails are marked, some are not. They are marked 1 Diamond through 5 Diamond with 1 being the easiest. From experience we found that some of the 2 and 3 Diamond trails are not for the beginners.
* In our first 5 minutes of being there we turned off down a trail and there was a small hill to climb. Not being able to see the other side made W-spouse very uncomfortable so we decided to back out. But....by this time, 5 other Jeeps were lined up behind us. Me, not wanting to look like I was scared, went on up the hill. The whole time W-spouse cussing and griping at me. Wasn't a good start. After that, she calmed down and we stuck to the easy trails until she could either get out and watch, or give me the OK to proceed.
* The rest of the day went uneventful. We pulled off the trails for a while and had a burger at Rock City, then returned till the park closed at 5pm.
* Sunday after church, we went back. This time W-baby mom went with us. She had a blast and I didn't scare her to bad. She only got out one time when I went down the trail they call Godzilla. I had went down it on Saturday and back up it, so I knew what to expect. Later in the day, W-spouse and W-baby mom went down it with me again. Both admitted later that it wasn't to bad.
* The pictures and story below really happened. The guy had told us about a 4 Diamond that we could make part of the way and then there is a shortcut, that is much easier to maneuver to get out. W-spouse was terrified by the time we made it back to the top of the ridge. I must admit, on my first run, I was very nervous. I was only nervous about tearing up the Jeep, not that we would get hurt. We were only going less than 1 mile an hour and were buckled in. I WILL do it again. You can watch the uphill climb, and W-spouses reaction on  Facebook where I posted the video.
* The only damage that was suffered all weekend, was when we were climbing a huge rock with the left front tire and leaned way over to the right and the soft top rubbed a tree. It has a small tear in it. Dang it.
* My ex brother in law used to have a Jeep and we had many fun days riding in it. Skeeter, if you read this, find you a Jeep. You would love that Park out there and we could spend hundreds of hours exploring it.
* Some of you may have already realized this, but I am hooked. I HAVE found my new hobby. I'm also sure that there will be more posts concerning 4 wheeling in the future
* We ended up trading the motorcycle for the Jeep to a guy in Arlington. The first deal never worked out, although I have heard from him a few times since Friday and he has figured out the issue with the transmission. He was just trying to reassure me that it was a legit deal. I believe him, but I also hate that he lost out on getting a great Harley motorcycle.
* For the first time in 11 years, I don't hold the title to a motorcycle.
* I don't regret that either.
* Testing at Daytona over the last 4 days produced speeds in excess of 206 MPH. This morning on Sirius NASCAR radio they reported the the powers to be at NASCAR were OK with that.
* The start of the NASCAR season is a month away. I'm so ready!
* Have a great day and remember, it's a "Jeep Thing". See ya Around The Corner!

That does look like fun! Maybe I can get hubby to trade in one of his 5 (or is it 6? Maybe 7) motorcycles and buy us a jeep...
