It was every bit of 18" long. Killed it at dusk just as you enter our housing addition.
Looked like a Copperhead, but I'm not sure. Sorry the pictures are shaky. I might have been a little skeered.
EDIT: Comparing pics on the net and I think it's NOT one. The head is shaped similar, but this ones head is longer and narrower, and the tail looks to thin and long.

No a harmless and formerly beneficial bull snake.
Elchupacabra, it was already ran over, I just took it out of it's misery.
Head not diamond-y enough to be poisonous.

A Rat Snake (Elaphe sp.) harmless and beneficial.
