Never be bullied into silence. Never allow yourself to be made a victim. Accept no one's definition of your life, but define yourself. Harvey S. Firestone

The people with whom you work reflect your own attitude. If you are suspicious, unfriendly and condescending, you will find these unlovely traits echoed all about you. But if you are on your best behavior, you will bring out the best in persons with whom you are going to spend most of your waking hours.

Some people get spiritual because they see the light and some people get spiritual because they feel the heat!

I Need Your Prayers More Than Ever

My cousin who lives down south, wears a badge an carries a gun was involved in an accident in his patrol car this morning. From the accounts we have he rear ended another patrol car that had abruptly stopped in front of him. He had to be extricated from the car. He broke his back in an accident a year ago, also while on duty.
The bad news: There is a break between C-3 and C-4 and a break between C-6 and C-7. There is a calcium buildup and spur at C-3 which is putting pressure on the spinal cord. From all indications the spinal cord is not severed at either break, just bruised. An artery was leaking slightly in his neck but seems to have repaired itself. He is also intubated, but was breathing on his own and talking upon arrival to the hospital.
The real bad news: He was able to tell the doctors that he couldn't feel anything. The doctors aren't sugar coating this at all. Only time will tell whether he is paralyzed or not. Or partially, or if any at all.
W-spouse, my cousins girlfriend (who lives in Lake Worth) and I immediately loaded up and headed to Houston. We just arrived and received this information. He went into surgery around 3:30pm to repair the breaks and to shave the spur and calcium at C-3. Surgery will last from 4-7 hours. If I ever needed someone to pray, I please ask now.
