* The weather yesterday was wonderful. Over near Krum the temperature stayed in the upper 70s all day till the sun came out, then it only got to 82. Is this really August?
* W-spouse is sick. So sick in fact that she came home from work early yesterday, went to the evening clinic, and is staying home today. That is rare form for her. As I've stated here before, her work ethic is impeccable and she rarely if ever calls in sick.
* In fact, I've seen her work when she should have stayed home.
* I received some of the bills for my little chest pain fiasco that happened before we went on vacation. OMG...
* As I was paying the bills last night, I opened the ATT website to pay our phone bill. $698.72. HOLY SMOKES. That really isn't the language that I used, but you get the point. I knew that I had changed our plan before we went to Mexico to allow for some usage over there. We only took my phone, the other two were temporarily suspended, so I knew for a fact the phone charges were not abused. I only made 3 or 4 calls while over there, and very short calls at that. I only sent or received about 40 texts. I kept the internet usage to a minimum and tracked the usage, so I knew it wasn't over either. So I got on the phone with ATT. Of course, I was pissed from the very start, which wasn't going to be a good way for this conversation to get moving productively. Then some foreign speaking Rafael guy says OLO(hello) is this Vendol Vigins. Now I'm really pissed. I said very nicely in my best redneck form, "Sir, #1 I'm not happy, #2 I need to speak to someone that speaks impeccable English because I am hearing impaired. Now the funny thing is, almost on cue he starts speaking perfect English. He pronounced my name correctly the second time and also spoke up with enough clarity that I was able to understand every word he said. After briefly explaining my situation with the bill, he said that yes there seemed to be a problem. After he reviewed it for a few minutes and put me on and off of hold a few times, he then comes back on the phone and asks me very politely if he can call me back while he discusses this with his manager. Sure enough, after a few minutes he calls me back and after I logged back into my account, it showed the credits on my bill. I was credited $464.94, making the amount I owed $233.78. I thanked him very much and also told him that if I could speak to his supervisor that I wanted to let him know how nice he was, and how he went out of his way to satisfy the customer. Cuss ATT all you want, but that is the second time in 10 years or so that they have helped me out of a situation such as that.
* Speaking of phones. Yesterday Madison dropped W-daughter #2 phone into a sink full of water. Ooops
* W-moms surgery has been pushed back to August 31 now. Keep her in your prayers.
* I want to throw a bone out to my best friend and the only brother I have ever had. The guy down south that wears a badge and carries a gun received some very good news yesterday. He got invited to join a Vice Squad. Something that he has been wanting to do for a while now. The opportunity came up and he applied, and they accepted him. Congratulations brother. I love you!
* I can no longer call him Barney Fife. Just kidding.
* I gotta get to work. I hope you have a blessed day, see ya Around The Corner!

The people with whom you work reflect your own attitude. If you are suspicious, unfriendly and condescending, you will find these unlovely traits echoed all about you. But if you are on your best behavior, you will bring out the best in persons with whom you are going to spend most of your waking hours.

Maybe your brother/cop was promoted to Vice because he was already connected to the underworld. I'm wondering about your millionaire's lifestyle. Hmmm...
