From The Corner Of My MInd

* Yesterday on location is wasn't quite as hot as it has been, but when I got home, I decided to work in the building for a little while and do some things to the Teryx4. It was miserably hot in there.
* Looks like I'm going to get another long weekend off after working ALL of last weekend.
* Since W-spouse and W-stepson are going out of town, I was going to take the Teryx4 somewhere and do some aggressive riding. Now the weather forecasters are predicting 60 percent chance of rain on Saturday. Go figure, I get the toy back from 6 weeks in the shop and now all the ATV parks will be shut down due to inclement weather.
* I just received a text asking me if I was going to blog today. I replied "Why?", the response "Because I like reading your blog". I'm under a lot of pressure here folks.
* I received three private messages from folks on Twitter yesterday. Apparently they all got hacked and needed to change their passwords. I love social media, but that is so frustrating. Oh, I didn't open any of them, including the first one. It looked like a rat, and smelled like a rat. TaDa...it was a rat.
* I took the winch off the Teryx4 yesterday and moved it over closer to center. I was going to build a mounting plate, but after taking careful measurements, I decided it wasn't needed. So I enlarged the holes in the existing plate, and the winch, then replaced the winch with larger bolts.
* The rear view mirror came in yesterday that we ordered for it and I installed it also.
* Next on the agenda is a roof. They are $600 from Kawasaki. I can build either of these much cheaper.

* I like the one in the top picture and can probably get it finished for around $200.
* There are already many aftermarket windshields available and we will probably go with the one in this picture.

* So much that I want to do, so little funds to do it with.
* I still have a gift certificate to use that I received for my birthday that goes toward purchases for the Jeep. I am going to get an aftermarket Banks Cool Air Intake. Then a Throttle Body Spacer to add more horsepower. I should see an increase of 10hp with both installed. Or so they say.
* NASCAR. Just haven't said anything about that in a while. Perhaps I'm burned out? Perhaps all these cookie cutter 1 1/2 mile tracks are making the sport dull. Maybe it's the identical looking, driving, performing cars? I don't know, other than I'm just in a lull right now. Hopefully when the Chase starts I will feel differently. Right now, I think I have to many other things going on.
* I want an IPad 3.
* I want a lot of crap that I don't need.
* I also have a boat for sale. Needs a little upholstery work. Other than that, it's good to go. Tired of boating and the damn lake never has enough water in it to safely go out and have a good time. While I'm on that topic. Lake Bridgeport was once a peaceful nice lake to go out on a Sunday afternoon and have a good time. Now it's a madhouse, and very dangerous. My prediction: Lake Bridgeport will be the "Lake Lewisville" of the Metro Mess in a few years. Drownings, boat accidents and recklessness will abound.
* That's sad because it was once just far enough away to have it all to ourselves, and now.....well, you know.
* I wish the Sopranos would start back up. I miss that show. Bada Bing.
* I'm a lucky man to have a wonderful wife, 5 wonderful children and their spouses, and two beautiful grand children that I adore. I suppose I better throw in, some great parents and In-laws.....and of course, my sibling and her family.
* I made that last post after reading a story in the news about a guy that took his life. In his suicide note he said "Life just wasn't worth living anymore".
* My friends, we ALL have a lot to live for.
* Hoping your day is good, see ya Around The Corner.

I do love reading your blog! It brightens my day! I know that it stinks that you had plans this weekend and now it is suppose to rain, but we really really need the rain....maybe you could still go somewhere though?!? Surely you can google someplace that will be open. Nascar....nothing to say. You are a lucky man but also we are all lucky to have you in our lives as well. Love you and hope you have a good day!

Ha!! I'm ahead of the WW Curve on Apple Products??!!

My iPad3 is the shizz. I was up until midnight last night having it run just about every damn thing in my house. AppleTV, laptop, Bluetooth speaker, iTunes, iPhone.

Soon I'll never have to leave my couch.

Except to pick up hookers and cocaine. Is there an app for that?

I, too, mourn over the deterioration of our beautiful lake. We had it so good for a long time and I am grateful for that. Remember how easy it was to catch crappie from our dock?
Go to soggydollar.com where they have a web cam for some serenity and truly beautiful scenes. Sometimes you can see the white catamaran I sailed on anchored there. She has a logo on the bow that is a combination of anchor and cross. When I see her I call my buddy and he waves at me. ( sailing by proxy )

Too bad you had to work last weekend. You missed a helluva race at Watkins Glen. The last 3 laps were "edge of your seat" racing. Good stuff. I wish there were more (and wider) road courses on the schedule.

I bet the boys at T-Top Mfg in Bridgeport can make you a dandy aluminum roof for your Teryx.

i miss Tony! i want the Sopranos back too! i really like Steven Van Zandt as both an actor and musician... i tried out Lilyhammer as a substitute for the Sopranos.. while it's a good little show, it ain't the Jersey crew... so I watch all the reruns... all the time..

the lakes in areas we lived in were pretty out of control too... Lake Somerville and Lake Travis... both used to be nice places to go... pft not so much anymore...

we are all very lucky in so many ways but it's easy to lose sight of that when suffering... very easy indeed... been there, done that...

Good Lord take some Happy Meds, I have had no problem with the Lake or any of the Boaters, the area has grown so therefore of course there will be more Boaters. Thats why its a Public Lake not Private, I have ran across very nice people who share the water...I will mail you some of that Hormone Gel for you to Rub on Grumpy. I dont have to use the Lake, I Get to use the Lake. SC
