* This well we are working on is giving us fits. Although it makes me more money, I would rather things flow smoothly along.
* As you can see below, I met the girl that I bought the summer doors from again yesterday. She had more Jeep stuff. That was as good of a deal as I have ran across in a long time. Good deals usually aren't real good to me.
* That rack is easily removable, and easy to store, if I choose to not have it on there for a while.
* I installed it with some help from W-spouse in less than thirty minutes.
* One of the topics in the news this week is the Khan Academy. It seems that Salman Khan has launched an IPad App that gives users the opportunity to download videos for offline viewing and jump through videos by navigating subtitles. Users can also log into a Khan Academy account to track their individual progress and receive credits for watching the videos, making the learning experience like a game. The app is the sixth most popular free app in the iTunes store and the top app in the education section, with roughly 17,500 downloads since it was made available on Sunday morning.
* Critics point out that Khan is not a trained teacher. However, he was a math major at MIT with master's degrees in computer science, electrical engineering and business administration. He provides exercises to test a student's comprehension of the concepts, and a "dashboard" so teachers, coaches and parents can monitor student progress. Some wonder if this is the end of the traditional education, as students progress at their own pace without being classified in "first grade" or "junior high." Everyone could have access to the same quality of instruction, leveling the educational playing field. Or education could be "dumbed down" to transfer of information without the critical interaction between teachers and classmates so vital to worldview development and character formation.
* He has had a YouTube channel for a long time doing the same thing.
* Some of the above posts where taken from my devotional this morning.
* By now you all know how much I like my I-stuff. I'm a firm believer in the advancement of new technology and new ways to apply it. I've heard Mr. Answers state a few times how things like the mobile phone and it's abilities(text) have made a generation of individuals who don't know, or will have trouble interacting with each other on a personal basis in the future. I agree with that, but at the same time I also can see where things like the Khan Academy could help, and will help teach those with learning disabilities, and those with extraordinary learning abilities.
* At the same time, I feel that we need the interaction with others. We need the "Ms Smith" teachers that care about helping us to learn our ABCs, and our 1+1=2. We need that coach that will take that child that has a problem under his/her wing and help guide them using sports to help them understand what a good education means for their future.
* OK, rant over. Your thoughts??
* This week NASCAR heads to Bristol. A mad dash on a tiny track. Short track racing isn't my favorite, but it is growing on me. In this view of the track from above, compare the square footage of the grandstands to the actual size of the track and infield. The place seats a crazy amount of people and rarely, if ever is there and empty seat in the house.
* Have a great day, see ya Around The Corner!

Thanks for the info on Khan Academy app for IPad. Very interesting with in depth info about almost everything. Mo
i love Khan Academy... I haven't spent too much time there but man, awesome stuff so far...
And the Vi Hart chick... I started watching her videos a while back when the drawing was kicking in... she is quite a cookie eh?
oh... i forgot to add my second thought lol imagine that...
i think human interaction is critical... i'm a hermit... but i have learned that i MUST have contact with real people in order to be healthy... mentally healthy... it's something i neglected for years and years and years.... now as an adult i have paid for it in many ways....
i think learning in a socialized environment is very important... it helps us learn empathy and compassion and tolerance... it's easy to be virtual and be whatever we want to be... easy to tuck tail and hide when things are uncomfortable... face to face teaches us how to cope in a good way with even the most adverse of situations...
(i think this is leading to a blog post)
