From The Corner Of My Mind

* 90% chance of rain today. No, not in Wise County, but at Daytona Beach.
* For the first time in 54 years the Daytona 500 was postponed yesterday due to bad weather.
* I worked on Saturday and missed watching the Nationwide race live. I had recorded it and went home and watched it as soon as I walked in the door. More on that later.
* Saturday evening W-spouse and I met some blog/group text/friends at Cheddars over in the Alliance area. They had the hardest time trying to find a table for ten of us. We ended up over in a corner, with a round table that was supposed to seat 6.
* We all just squeezed together and made the best of it. I finally met SC, aka Scooter and his wife, and Jean Bean. Once again, it was good putting faces with names.
* There were lots of stories and gossip spread around. If you were not in attendance, we probably mentioned something about you at some point. Good....or bad.
* The grumpy Marine and our young nature lovers didn't get to make the meet. We missed you guys.
* I sat between two beautiful women all night and I was in Heaven. A huge smile was on my face all night.
* Sunday morning, W-spouse and I attended Bible Class and the Morning Worship service. We started a new book in the Bible Class. 1 John. 1: 5-7 Walking in the light! Our pastor and Mr Answers knew that I was in a hurry to get home and get the race started so as I started out the door Mr Answers stopped me and told me that he needed to talk to me after church. I told him that he better make it snappy or he could call me on the phone. He was just kidding and finally let me go.
* I got home and turned on the TV and UGHHHHHH rain delay. It didn't even look like it was going to clear up there on their local radar. So change of plans.
* I had told W-daughter #2 that I would take her to the offroad park if the race was rained out. She and a friend and I loaded up and went 4 wheeling at the park for 3-4 hours. We had a great time and found some new trails.
* We had the door tops off and took the sides off of the top and rode around for two hours without even getting dusty. Then I took a new trail and we got off into some deep mud. Even getting stuck for a bit and having to work back and forth to get it out. It was back to the car wash after we went riding.
* Daytona Speed Week: During the Gatorade Duals, the NCWTS race and the NNS race on Saturday, over 93 cars sustained damage in one way or another. During the NCWTS race and the NNS race 75 out of 94 cars or trucks were damaged, over 50 vehicles were damaged bad enough to not be able to return.
* Has NASCAR stopped the two car tandem? Yes. For all but the last few laps. Has NASCAR potentially created an even worse situation? Maybe. Pack racing = Multiple car crashes. During the last 10 laps of the NNS race on Saturday, three wrecks occurred with over 30 cars sustaining damage in one way or another.
* I won't be able to watch it today unless it gets a really late start, but I do have it recorded.
* They are saying on NASCAR Sirius radio that the jet dryers are on the track right now, but one of the guys is in a hotel about 30 minutes away from the track and it's flooding there were he is, 8:30am EST.
