From The Corner Of My Mind

* It's a beautiful cold windy morning. The wind was howling last night about 8:30. It blew the grand kids wagon all the way across the yard.
* I tweeted to a NASCAR celebrity this morning and he replied back to me.
* I tweeted to Jarhead a few times this past week and he never replied. He's stuck up that way.
* Don't confuse Jarhead with a celebrity.
* This morning on 380 eastbound about 5 miles west of Denton, a truck had dropped off his trailer on the side of the road. You ask, "so what"? It had a military tank on it. He probably ran out of daylight if he was running a permit load.
* I remember when a crazy guy stole a tank and went on a ride through San Diego. Didn't end well for him.
* When I am stuck in traffic on I-35, I sometimes wish that I was in a tank. Probably wouldn't end well for me either.
* The insurance adjuster showed up yesterday to survey the damage to the house from the water leak. His proposal didn't even meet the deductible. Insurance may be the biggest rip off in the world.
* While thinking on this subject this morning, I did some quick math. I pay more each year in insurance premiums (health,homeowners,life,vehicle) than two people that I am very close to receive ANNUALLY combined in social security benefits. Way more actually.
* I need to start an insurance company and begin taking other peoples money and just never pay a claim. You say that I am simplifying it? Not so much, it happens everyday.
* Or I could say "I don't HAVE to, I GET to".
* Scooter has already lined up someone to fix the leak around the skylight for us (thanks so much BTW). W-spouse wants to keep it, so it stays for now. It's up in the air right now whether she and I will repair the inside ourselves, or get someone to do it.
* Kurt Busch has a ride for 2012. I was hoping he would sit out for at least a season.
* Still haven't heard from the Jeep guy over in Corinth. He has until today to show us the Jeep. If not, we have our sights set on this one.
* Have a great day, see ya Around The Corner!

Scoot's the Bomb. Grade A Guy. =)

Twitter's fun. I always feel like a Kindergartner in that arena though....I don't have the juju down for it yet. Ever read Hugh Hefner's tweets? They're strangely fascinating...in a weird old man sort of way.

I want a PJ day....[sigh].......

Jeep looks nice, but I always wondered if I'd be safe without a metal roof. I'm sure they are, they've been selling them for years, but just a fear of mine.

Feel the same way on insurance. What a rip off.

I expected Busch to sit a year as well. If he was ranting about his car with Penske, he'll be in constant meltdown mode at Phoenix.

On insurance, it really helps when you get the state to make a law limiting the amount you have to pay out on a claim (Tort Reform). If you really want to get upset, watch the HBO documentary "Hot Coffee".

RPM, I watched it, part of the reason for the rant.
SailorMoon..It has full roll bar protection under the soft top. Most all do. Google a jeep without top, you will see.

Kurt and Kyle need to go back to their own yard and play until they grow up.
Hurry up Daytona!

Make sure it has the six cylinder engine, the four banger won't have any power with those tires....especially if you turn the a/c on.

They were testing at Daytona today. I listened to part of it on Sirius NASCAR Radio. It sounds like NASCAR is doing everything they can short of banning bump drafting to stop the 2x2 racing.

No more between team or spotter communication (the multi-channel radios), the driver can only talk to his team now. They lowered the spoiler to reduce down force and softened the rear springs. They also changed the specs on the radiators forcing them to swap after only a couple of laps or blow up.

The result is a highly unstable (but faster) 2 car setup with the cars wiggling all over the place. Look for multiple crashes in February.

Re: The Jeep - Wow, something in an engine compartment that looks like...well, an engine. And not something shoehorned in there by Mattel.

Cool.

Insurance is a rip off especially for retired people on limited incomes.

Jeep is a nice ride proud for you.

Good luck on the ceiling.
