* What did we do nearly all weekend? Babysit grand kids. What a fun time we all had.
* Ava G showed up about 4 Saturday evening and stayed all night with us. We took her to church and Madison met us there. Everyone thought they were just beautiful. Madison cried when we took her to the nursery for a few minutes, but soon warmed up to everyone and they had a great time during the services.
* We made a Dairy Queen run after church and shared hamburgers, fries and ice cream. We went home after that and we all napped for a while.
* Ava's mother picked her up late in the evening and we headed back to church for the annual talent show.
* Since we had forgotten to cook anything for the pot luck supper, we grabbed some chicken tenders and smashed taters.
* The meal was great and we had a wonderful visit with those at our table. The talent show was incredible. We heard children from 4 years old sing, to some great 60s and 70s hits sung by our pastor, his wife and the lead singer of Praise Team. The evening capped off with four of our church members singing and dancing to the Blues Brothers song.
* I didn't perform this year. I will next year. Remember that.
* Made it back home and caught up on Boardwalk Empire, then the final washout of the Cowboys game.
* Saturday morning W-spouse and I went shopping and barely made it back by the time Ava was supposed to show up.
* I finally had a whole weekend off, and we never stopped to rest, all weekend.
* Less than two weeks till Christmas. Just about all our shopping is done. All we like is picking up a few stocking stuffers.
* The weary travelers out West started for home yesterday. They spent the night in Gallup NM last night. They might be home today, but I'm betting they spend another night out. Although they haven't seen the great grand baby in a week, so they might be playing against my bet. EDIT: Just received a picture of the parking lot of the hotel they were staying at and there is a couple of inches of snow on the ground. That will be fun driving home in.
* W-spouse just text me a picture. She might have had a coffee spillage incident this morning. It might have involved an expensive copy machine.
* I purchased a rifle and registered it in my name to give away for Christmas to one of my children. How do I go about transferring the registration to their name?
* Time to get to work, see ya Around The Corner!

2K Gun and Pawn can do the transfer for you.
You don't need to do anything. Its my understanding that there is nothing to transfer. A gun does not have a "registration."
The paperwork you fill out when purchasing the gun is just for the background check and a federal requirement.
I agree with BPG. There is no gun registration in Texas.
I'll chime in as well - Texas does not have a registration requirement.
In the event of a firearm being stolen or used in a crime, police may check the transfer history, by running the S/N and following the chain of transactions.
Note that that chain is not normally part of a government database, unless the manufacturer/distributor/dealer has gone out of business and has surrendered its records to the BATFE. If none of those has happened, the 'trace' would occur one link at a time, as the logbooks would still be kept at the offices of each mfr/dist/dlr.
Liberals refer to this as "The Gun Show Loophole", believing that every action taken by citizens must be reviewed and blessed by government bureaucrats before proceeding. In light of the 'Fast and Furious' debacle, however, it's not a credible argument that more paperwork results in less firearm misuse, especially so when the monitoring agency is apparently complicit in moving firearms to unsavory purchasers.
Once the firearm is sold to a retail buyer, no transaction records, in Texas at least (and most other states) are required for sales between private (non FFL holder) citizens, and the paper trail effectively ends, unless buyer and seller specifically document the transaction with a bill of sale or such. While the practice is very rare, I've seen circumstances where a buyer and seller exchange handwritten statements of the transfer, usually referencing a driver's license number, so as to give one or both parties a comfort level regarding the gun's provenance/source, or potential use.
So glad you two had such a fun weekend. Mo
What happened to the slowing down thing? Patience. Not!!
