From The Corner Of My Mind

* 31 degrees on the ride over to Ponder this morning. There was a light dusting of sleet/snow around the house when I left.
* I may have stated this before, but if you are currently a senior in high school and are on the bubble about whether or not to attend college so that you may get a diploma and possibly get a job in a nice warm building somewhere, come hang out with me today. After an hour or so following us around out here, I bet we can make your mind up for you.
* Every year that I get older, the cold seems to affect me more and more.
* I purchased new insulated FRC overalls and a new FRC coat a month or so back. I wore them all day yesterday. They were really warm and block the wind sufficiently, but there was an issue. I will let you guess, but will give you a hint. Drinking two cups of coffee will lead to the problem.
* Another hilarious group text ensued last night. There was lots of love spread throughout the room.
* Call me what you will, I'm still not going to sing at this years talent show. Haven't had enough time to prepare. Maybe next year.
* Most of the songs that I know revolve around drinking, cheating and lying. Probably won't go over real well at a church talent show.
* The murder/suicide that you have heard about this morning, you soon will find out that it has Wise County ties close to home. Tragic.
* Lake Bridgeport is holding steady, even gaining a little. It's still 13 feet low though.
* Kurt Busch has very strong ties to NHRA. It wouldn't surprise me to see him in a car there next year. He has driven in the Pro Stock division a few times in the last few years.
* For you NASCAR fans: Just a scenario.....Red Bull racing is up for sale($40 million). Kyle Busch and Kurt Busch buy Red Bull and all of its assets. Kurt Busch (brings Championship provisions) drives the first car and put an up and coming driver (Ricky Stenhouse??)  in the second seat. Kyle remains with JGR for the time being. Opinions?
* W-spouse kept Madison yesterday. They had a great time together and I got to play with her for an hour or so before we took her home.
* A couple of folks I know are heading West this morning, eventually making their way to the NFR on Saturday night. They have to get through this first. If they take some Coors Light with them, they will survive if they get stuck in a snowdrift.
* My father in law and daughter in law have both been offered new jobs, and both have taken them. Our blessings to both of them.
* You will be glad to know that on this date in 2005 Brokeback Mountain premiered.
