Never be bullied into silence. Never allow yourself to be made a victim. Accept no one's definition of your life, but define yourself. Harvey S. Firestone

The people with whom you work reflect your own attitude. If you are suspicious, unfriendly and condescending, you will find these unlovely traits echoed all about you. But if you are on your best behavior, you will bring out the best in persons with whom you are going to spend most of your waking hours.

Some people get spiritual because they see the light and some people get spiritual because they feel the heat!

How do you know if you're truly a servant? See how you react the next time someone treats you like one.

From The Corner Of My Mind

* Lighting and thunder overhead this morning where I am at, which is over around Haslet. 30% chance all day today.
* Nascar was in Charlotte this weekend for the All Star race on Saturday night. Carl Edwards took the checkered flag and a $1.2 million payday. During his celebration he dove the car off the track at 150 mph onto the grass and practically destroyed his car. The theorists are saying this morning that he did that because he knew the car wouldn't pass post race inspection. He had the fastest car and the best pit stops by far. Kyle tried in vain to run him down and just couldn't do it.
* Kyle did win the CWST race on Friday night. He spun out and was at the back of the field about half way through the race, and came back to win. Ricky Stenhouse Jr. won the Nationwide race  over in Newton Iowa on Sunday. The first actual Nationwide series driver (other than Sprint Cup drivers) to win a Nationwide race since March 2010.
* I let most of the comments go through on the Cheers and Jeers post below. Not all though. I, in no way meant for that to be a Police bashing post. In my ignorance I was hoping that the DPS officer might read it or get told about it and either think next time or take action next time.
* Jar, not all cops suck. That is way to broad of a statement. I know many that are honest and hard working guys and girls that serve well.
* Three day weekend coming up. We plan on picking Madison up on Saturday morning and head to the lakehouse. We haven't even gotten the boat out yet. I know the batteries are charged because I climbed in it the other day and raised the power trim.
* Papa Harold is cooking fish on Saturday evening. I will probably assist him in that venture. I like being the taste tester.
* We also will probably have to move our boat dock this weekend. The lake has went down instead of rising, as is normal when we get the Spring rains.
* Our new AC is scheduled to be installed on Wednesday. Anyone willing to float a low interest loan? Or maybe just pay for the AC because you feel sorry for us !!
* How do you spell interest? Intrest or interest? When talking about a loan, not as in "you are interested in me".
* W-spouse and I went to breakfast Sunday morning before church. When we got home, I jumped in the shower and when I got out, she was crashed on the bed. I didn't have the heart to wake her for Bible class. I quietly got dressed and snuck off to church. She made the morning Worship service. This is her last week as an OR Circulator. She starts Pre-Op assesment after the three day weekend. No more call, no more weekends. 8-5 Monday - Friday. I'm praying this move will help in getting her knee healed.
* Yesterday was Senior day at our church. We have 8 kids graduating this year. Mr Answers, your last one is headed off into the world. Next year, we will experience that.
* Madison and W-baby momma came over for a visit yesterday. Madison was all giggles and smiles.
* Ava G has been in Florida with her Mom and Dad this week. Hopefully she will come home today or tomorrow so we can get some loving from her.
* Have a blessed Monday, and see ya Around The Corner!

I don't think it was intentional. If you watch the in car video his eyes get cartoon big when he hits the drain.

I LMAO when it happened.

Didn't finish well but did finish!
By the way; Angela and Amber are girls' names. Just in case you didn't notice.

One of my best friends is a cop. He's a great guy and would give me the shirt off his back without having to ask.

Cops still suck. They are, by and large, abusers of the powers they are entrusted with and way too self-congratulating about their jobs. The 5% of them that are humble and do their jobs without patting themselves on the back at every opportunity are the silent minority.

Police officers need to be held to a higher standard by the citizens they are sworn to protect. Unfortunately, you can't ask a cop a question without them taking it as some sort of challenge or confrontation, and that's why we, as law abiding citizens are afraid to question their authority, thus perpetuating their power/ego trips.

Next time you have an interaction with a LEO, ask him or her a question and watch the attitude. Granted they deal with the dregs of society, but they should recognize that a legitimate query from a law abiding citizen should be answered with courtesy, not confrontation.

Much respect goes to the 5% that do their jobs without asking for congratulations or pointing out how dangerous their jobs are. You signed up for it, now shut up and do it like everyone else does.
