From The Corner Of My Mind

* Humid and windy this morning with the temps in the 70s. RED FLAG FIRE WARNINGS for West Texas all this week.
* W-mom, Papa Harold, both W-daughters and Madison attended church with us Sunday morning. I was so excited for all of them to be there. My mother loved the music service.
* There were a lot of Texas Forest Service firefighters spending the night in Decatur last night. I don't know if they are staging here or enroute out west to get closer to the problem areas.
* The race at Darlington on Saturday night turned out to be another great race. It was won by a single owned car team. Regan Smith (in the Furniture Row car) won the race with a tire strategy at the end putting him out front where Carl Edwards couldn't get out front of him into the clean air.
* What has nearly turned into bigger news than the win by him though, was the turmoil during and after the race between Kevin Harvick and Kyle Busch. Before I begin, lets be clear, I'm not a fan of either of these drivers...........yet. If Kyle continues to handle himself as he has done in the past two months whether he wins or loses a race, I could become a fan of his. During the race, tempers had flared as it always does at Darlington. It is a track where your car is going to get dented. If it doesn't, your not racing. AS I SAW IT:  KH and KB were racing for position. KH was trying to blast/push/crash/run over/run into anyone and everyone to get his way back to the front. That's just him and the way he drives. He's good at pushing  people out of the way, especially towards the end of the race, to get to the front of the pack. The problem with KH (and I have stated this numerous times before) is that when he leans on someone and then they lean back, he gets all pissy and mad and starts just running over people to get back to the front. KB pushed back, Then KH pushed back harder, then coming out of turn two they both lost it and Clint Bowyer paid the price by sliding into the inside wall and KB turned down into KH putting him into the wall. After the race was over the crybaby(KH) followed KB to try and crash him, KB turned off pit row back onto the track and KH followed hiw. They then both hooked a u-turn back onto pit row where KH slammed on his brakes and KB stopped. Then KH backed up crashing into KB. KB just sat there. KH took his steering wheel off to get out, put it back on, then took it off again and climbed out. By this time, a few of KH team members had already ran down pit row to attempt to take on KB. As KH reached KB window, KB pushed down on the gas pedal and spun KH car into the pit wall crashing it. As he went by, KH unsuccesfully attemted to hit him through the window. Both guys were called to the NASCAR hauler. KB stated after the race that his reverse was out on his car and he couldn't back up, so he pushed him out of the way(NASCAR tore the tranny down and found this to be true). Either way, what KH did was wrong. What KB did was wrong. Pushing a 3200 pound car down pit row to crash it is a very dangerous situation. If KH would just race and let these incidents be racing incidents, he couldn't be beat on most tracks. Kb has already started taking steps to control his issues. Maybe KH needs to see the same therapist. Should NASCAR fine or put either of these drivers on probation? I say "Lets go racin boys". Have at it!
* It's off the Monster Mile at Dover next weekend where I am sure that tempers will flare even more.
* A busy day in store for me, see ya Around The Corner!

Slow down their hoss you didn't think that I would let you post a paragraph that long and not say something did you? I thought of you immediately when I saw that incident. Truth be told I agree w/ you on this one! Rubbing is racing so swap paint and if you wreck you wreck. I will have to admit the incident on pit row was rather comical and even if KH connects with his fist through KB's window is it really gonna do any good considering KB has a helmet on??? Pretty funny stuff and honestly I think it's good for the sport to have some racers who have a rivalry. Good post!

Pretty good re-cap, and I agree with your comments. What I cant figure out is why I'm starting to like --- NO, not hate Kyle. Is he gonna grow up like his brother did?

Hold up honey, let's not forget that if KH hadn't of gotten out of his car HB couldn't have crashed it. I'm just saying! And, I was disappointed in DW's commentary on the events, he wanted to spin it as a KB screw up when it did't matter the angle, it's on KH.
