While growing up and coming up to this area to stay with my grandparents during the summers, I would eventually end up down at Aunt Bonnie and Uncle Bo's house, and working on the dairy most of the time. My Aunt would never fail to have breakfast cooking for us every day. Back in those days, chocolate milk did not come in a easy opening plastic container. You actually had Nestles Quik powder mix that you had to spoon the powder into the glass and mix it up yourself. At Aunt Bonnies house, if there was some residue left in the bottom of the glass left over after you drank it, you would have to pour another glass of milk and mix it up again until you cleaned it all up. They taught us to not waste it, or not to use to much. It was a rule, and everyone lived by it. I think the first time it happened to me, I drank 4 glasses of milk before I got my glass cleaned up.
What types of food or condiments get overused or wasted in your home?
At our house, ketchup and BBQ sauce. I always put way to much ketchup on my plate and end up washing half of it down the sink.

We might overuse beer, but we never waste it!
I don't use condiments often, just cook with lots of spices etc.
But the kids are bad for getting a cup/dish of ranch or something to dip carrots in, and taking way too much and wasting it.
I also won't buy soda in cans, because they will open them, drink part, and leave them sitting around to waste. I rarely buy soda, but when I do, it's in a two liter bottle, for that very reason.
Ranch dressing
salad dressing (ranch for me, honey mustard for the ol' goat), butter.... syrup.... and cheese - that kind that comes already shredded... it ends up spilled on every countertop, in the microwave.. on the hood over the range(?)... and of course the floor
I'm just the opposite of Squaw on Cokes. I always buy cans and never 2 Liters. Yeah, they're more expensive but I waste less because the 2L's go flat before I finish it.
Nothing worse than a Crown & flat Coke.
