Do you leave a faucet dripping when the temperatures get real low?
I do. I think it's better to be safe than sorry in this case. Many years ago I worked for a plumber. We fixed hundreds of busted pipes that could have been avoided if they would have just left the water dripping.

oh yes!! dripping away here.... and during the day yesterday i turned the water completely off.... will do the same today... we live in a 5th wheel RV so there's not much in the way of pipe protection going on.... ugh!

Yes, we leave the kids bathtub dripping, but last night we left it running. Not taking any chances.

I'm covered either way....as in, I totally forgot to leave the faucets dripping (like I was always taught to do by my parents), but our stupid wonky kitchen faucet friggin' drips nonstop, so.........;-)

I used to, then when I built The South 40 priority 1 was on water pipe protection from the well to the faucet.
It would have to drop subzero for several days with no power before I started to worry.
Yup, I leave it running a little faster when it gets a little colder.
yep, and it STILL froze up! No water since Monday night. ;-(
Me too, txtrigger. We're living out of water bottles.
Yeah, duh! Why take a chance. We are on a well, so no worries about extra expense of water bill. Plus we have gas wall heaters in the bathrooms that we ONLY run when it's like this. Not taking any chances here. Now, we've had the drain from one bathtub freeze up....that's not cool, but at least it's not in a wall.
Be sure and leave the cabinet doors open that are on the outside walls. It allows the room temperature to keep pipes warmer.
