This was a small excerpt was taken from a comment over at LL about cutting the budgets at schools. You can read the whole comment here. I'm assuming this statement was made by a teacher, or at least someone that is at a school everyday.
"I beg you to see what we face everyday in class-apathy from both students and parents, parents irate when we expect students to learn and heaven forbid-have to do homework and be responsible!! Kids expecting to be rewarded for even the smallest things! Parents making every excuse for their kids just so they will not have to experience the consequeces of their actions! "

The people with whom you work reflect your own attitude. If you are suspicious, unfriendly and condescending, you will find these unlovely traits echoed all about you. But if you are on your best behavior, you will bring out the best in persons with whom you are going to spend most of your waking hours.
Some people get spiritual because they see the light and some people get spiritual because they feel the heat!
How do you know if you're truly a servant? See how you react the next time someone treats you like one.

I didn't expect teachers to deal with a problem with one of my kids. That was my job.
It saddened me many times to see how truly shocked and grateful teachers were many times over the years when I would actually want to work WITH them to work through some issue with one of my kids. Whether it be academic or behavioral. I would think "my goodness, is it SO seldom they get parents that EXPECT the right thing out of their kid, or that want to work WITH the teacher to correct something?"
I couldn't do that job in a million years. No way. Special people, teachers.
Can retire from education in about 7 years. Cna't wait! Would I recommend education to anyone right now? NO WAY IN H$&*!!!
Too many uncertainties, plus new teachers MAY be the first to go with budget cuts.
I think schools really started going downhill when they took the ability for teachers to discipline students. Of course there are many factors but this seemed to really change the whole thing.
With the way many kids act today I amazed anyone would be a teacher.
