Never be bullied into silence. Never allow yourself to be made a victim. Accept no one's definition of your life, but define yourself. Harvey S. Firestone

The people with whom you work reflect your own attitude. If you are suspicious, unfriendly and condescending, you will find these unlovely traits echoed all about you. But if you are on your best behavior, you will bring out the best in persons with whom you are going to spend most of your waking hours.

Some people get spiritual because they see the light and some people get spiritual because they feel the heat!

From The Corner Of My Mind

* 17 degrees and snowing. It has slowed down, but earlier it was snowing so hard you couldn't see the street lights outside. They are saying that another small band is expected to move across us and move out by noon.
* I got out and ventured around this morning before daylight. I like being the first one to make the tracks in the snow. Actually, I treated my darling wife to Starbucks.
* I also got me a Starbucks. I don't do that very often. Starbucks coffee cost way to much and its silly to think their coffee is better than mine, but it was good.
* I may have stopped by Whataburger and picked up some vittles also.
* W-spouses back is hurting from laying and setting/sitting in the same position for 4 days. She has a doctors appointment for a follow up on the knee this morning. I hope they have a 4-wheel drive wheelchair to get her in the office. Crutches and snow/ice are not a good mix.
* I wonder just how many people are in an airport this morning waiting to come to the Metromess for the Super Bowl looking at the flight schedule and wondering why all the flights are cancelled into Love Field?
* They just showed a car on channel 5 coming off of 377 passing cars and looked to be going about 60 mph. Was that you Jar?
* I checked on Madison yesterday. She is doing great. She is breathing easier and doesn't sound as congested.
* I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those people that work in these extreme weather conditions to serve our needs. Our Fire departments, EMS, Police departments, health care workers, Postal service, wrecker operators and so many others I say, "Thank You".
* I finally broke down and replaced our router yesterday. The one we had was purchased 4 years ago. I can't believe how much faster the new one is. I'm mad at myself for not doing that sooner. Yesterday, we were streaming video on my IPad, streaming video on the PC and had an Xbox 360 online gaming all at the same time.
* Facebook can be fun. Some of you "Hogwarts" know what I mean by that!
* It's snowing hard again. I now wish that it would snow about 10' deep. < ---- Reverse Psychology. <--- Another big word !
* Thats the view out our back door at 8 am.
* I still feel a tweak in my back when I stand up. Its better though.
* I'm going to jump in the hot tub on the back porch for a while before heading off to the doctor with W-spouse. See ya Around The Corner!

With everything that's going on, you're still trying to work in bikinis in the hot tub?

W-brother-in-law, who live-in The Woodlands, tried to go in to his office this morning. Well he is back home three and a half hours later. Never made it to Loop 610 and I-45. Needless to say, he was glad to finally get back to our driveway with no injuries or fender benders. At one point this morning about 7:30, Fox News reported approximate 200 wrecks in the Houston area. No snow like expected, but lots of ice. Hope sister-in-law has a good doctor appointment. Fill me in later.

Sitting in the hot tub in the snow is the awesome, as long as the wind isn't blowing. I'm almost feeling sorry for some of the vendors at the Super Bowl (except Jerry), this was their one big shot. Thank God we haven't had the rolling blackouts. And yes, may God bless all those that have to get out and work in this. Everyone be careful.

Tmike -- I share your sympathy for the vendors (except Jerry) @ the Bowl. The "big" news story is certainly a huge uncomfortable downer for them.

I can't get over looking across the pool and seeing icicles and snow piles on the fountain! Huh???
