* Charlie Robison put on a great show at Gruene Hall last night.
* It was a packed house. They quit selling alcohol at midnight in these parts, so we celebrated the New Year East coast time. We left shortly after and went to our room where we listened to the rest of the show and brought in the New Year alone.
* We met another couple last night standing in line waiting for tickets. We sit/set/sat with them during the show. While talking with them, we found out how amazing their story of how they decided to come to Gruene parralled ours. Like us, they had thought about going to Colorado, or New Orleans or the Metroplex to bring in the New Year.
* They checked out Gruenes website and called the Gruene Mansion. There were only 3 rooms left, they got one, we got the one of the others. They got on the website and bought tickets for the show. Amazingly getting the last two available.
* I am typing this via IPad out on the patio. We've had breakfast and are enjoying the warm sunshine outside on the patio.
* We have a few shops to visit today, and of course, a few wine tastings.
* A brief run down of 2010:
1. Whitney had a nightmare surgery to start the year. 8 weeks of hell.
2. I got to work around home ALL year. Didn't have to travel.
3. 2 beautiful grandchildren entered our lives.
4. I purchased an IPhone and an IPad. Both of which I think are great.
5. W-stepson #3 got his drivers license and a vehicle.
6. I gave away my daughters hand in marriage.
7. W-stepsons #1-2 both got jobs as professional firefighters.
8. I started blogging at "Around The Corner From Over There".
9. I sold Matilda. She had been a faithful and good friend.
10. Started going back to church, and finding peace with my Lord again.
* I'm sure there are more, that's just all I can think of now.
* If not for the fact of being distanced from the children and grandchildren, I could move to the Texas Hill country. The terrain and scenery is just spectacular.
* There are some people around us so I need to visit, see ya Around The Corner!

The people with whom you work reflect your own attitude. If you are suspicious, unfriendly and condescending, you will find these unlovely traits echoed all about you. But if you are on your best behavior, you will bring out the best in persons with whom you are going to spend most of your waking hours.
Some people get spiritual because they see the light and some people get spiritual because they feel the heat!
How do you know if you're truly a servant? See how you react the next time someone treats you like one.

It was great to get to be with you & Whitney for such a delicious dinner. Please tell Watson & Dorothy we will take their dining referrals every time. I'm loving my pig but haven't decided what to put in it yet. It is atop the divider wall between front reading room & the dining room. Always enjoy reading your blog. Mo
