Never be bullied into silence. Never allow yourself to be made a victim. Accept no one's definition of your life, but define yourself. Harvey S. Firestone

The people with whom you work reflect your own attitude. If you are suspicious, unfriendly and condescending, you will find these unlovely traits echoed all about you. But if you are on your best behavior, you will bring out the best in persons with whom you are going to spend most of your waking hours.

Some people get spiritual because they see the light and some people get spiritual because they feel the heat!

From The Corner Of My Mind

* First day of our mini vacation was spent on the road. We ate lunch on the lake at Marble Falls. Drove through Perdenales State Park. We then stopped by a winery and for five dollars each, we tasted their wines. Visited Wimberly TX, and then made our way to Gruene where we checked into our room. After freshening up a bit, we made our way south again to downtown San Antonio and the River Walk. Had dinner at Dicks Last Resort and then toured the river by boat. Finally making it back to our room at the Gruene Mansion Inn where we fell asleep listening to the band over at the Gruene Hall.
* Our window overlooks the outdoor patio at the Gruene Hall. It's an amazing room, with a very old feel to it. Beautiful half canopy bed, wood floors, antique furniture and furnishings. A separate bathroom with a huge claw foot tub.
* It's on the second floor, and our room opens to an outdoor porch. Downstairs and outside is a very cozy sitting area. A place to wind down and relax. Part of this evening will be spent here sharing a bottle of wine from the winery we visited.
* Yesterday was spent on a fast pace. Today, we relax and just hang out around Gruene. There are a couple of winery tasting rooms close by and we have plans to check them out.
* Our tour guide said last night that San Antonio was the seventh largest city in the USA. I didn't know that. That intrigues me for some reason.
* On the river boat ride, as you pass under one of the bridges, you look up at this one building and it gives you an optical illusion of a 10 story free standing wall. I thought that was cool.
* Last night at Dicks we were seated next to two young girls, one was from Ecuador and the other was deaf. They had a great time and we had a wonderful visit with them. They both were going to school at UT. They were a little embarrassed at first, then they warmed up to the fun.
* I smell breakfast cooking downstairs. It's making me hungry. W-spouse has coffee brewing here in the room.
* Have a safe and fun New Years Eve, see ya Around The Corner!

My favorite winery down there is called Sister Creek. I believe the town is called Sisterdale. They were like 80 year old sisters, who were very sweet. The even sewed their own wine bags. Also if you had a special wine bottle you wanted to save, they would melt it into a cheese tray or spoon holder thing. Have a safe trip.
