Gogo Gumbo

As stated in an earlier post, I/We have been wanting to try the Gogo Gumbo restaurant out in Boyd. We finally made it tonight. It was packed full of locals and we had to wait about 20 minutes or so to get a table. It was well worth the wait. Heres a run down of our meal.

W-spouse and I started out with Fried Green Beans

I started out with a delicous bowl of Crab and Shrimp soup and Garlic bread.

Then it was on to the main course. W-spouse had the Shrimp and Grits and I had the Fried Crab Cakes

Now for the good stuff! We had a hard time deciding on what dessert to go with so we chose to try two different ones and bring home what was left. W-spouse chose the Jack Daniels Chocolate Mousse Pie and I had the Caramel Bread Pudding.

As you know I'm diabetic so I didn't really eat my dessert,or maybe I did, or maybe I'm just falling into a diabetic coma at this point.

Their shrimp and crab gumbo is one of my favourite things to eat in winter. I have been known to eat leftover shrimp and grits for breakfast. Gogo Gumbo is one of the best things in WC.

I'll second Mz's Best Things in WC nomination! So, give a review on the green beans? I'm curious....have thought about trying them in the past but I'm sorta chicken....

W-spouse and I botht thought they were very good. Tasted just like green beans with a fried batter. After we had the Bread Pudding, everything else was forgotten.
